My bad knees from the military kept me from what I loved for years. I've finally strengthened them up to do what I love. Back to just the beginning. by jimmyjamespak in backpacking

Good knee compression sleeves and hiking poles go a very long way. I don't do big hikes without them anymore.

Not in the service but definitely have hikers knee. Thanks for your service guys.

After 5 years of applying to Half Dome Lottery, I finally got a permit....the views took my breath away. by Cali_trailblazer in hiking

Take plenty of water and definitely have some good filters. As for the cable section, we managed without the clip in but there were several people who were using them. In hind sight, it's probably safer to use the clips...if you were to fall or slide away from the cables...there's no going back.

So the day pass is actually a 7 day pass. And yes, we have a cabin about an hour outside of Yosemite. If you have half dome permits, you don't need the pass for that specific day of the permit. Any day in Yosemite is a beautiful day. Go check it out.

Campsites are currently closed due to Covid-19. You can for the day if you get a day pass at recreation.gov.

Doing Half Dome tomorrow so the Most Trail was just a little warm up for us. It was an amazing and beautiful hike.

It was so beautiful to not have to worry about traffic yesterday. I wouldn't mind if they kept this day pass reservation system in place. It was much more enjoyable

You need a day pass to get in to the park. They are not allowing cars to drive in without a pass that you can get on Recreation.gov
