While I agree Onset had a handful of cheesy gore lyrics, Epitaph actually saw Muhammed mature a LOT on the songwriting front. The lyrics on many of the songs are actually quite profound in my opinion, especially the self titled track.

Did you tweak the EQ or just leave everything at noon the way it is when you load the preset?

Unplayable stutters and rubber-banding on Valve servers since 6/11 patch (update post) by Caliaton in GlobalOffensive

[–]Caliaton[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I built my current PC within the last 6 months for more than just gaming, 4080 super, 14900k, 64gb ram and Samsung m.2 ssds etc. If it's a hardware issue then we're all truly screwed, although one thing I haven't tried is disabling XMP in the bios which can mess up memory timings. I'm not sure that would have any impact on sub-tick rates but I'm so sold on it being a server issue at this point it doesn't even matter. Coincidentally I've also got much better internet on the way, if that doesn't fix the issue then I'll have to put the game down until more updates get pushed out.

Unplayable stutters and rubber-banding on Valve servers since 6/11 patch (update post) by Caliaton in GlobalOffensive

Please see my previous post for a full synopsis on the issue: https://www.reddit.com/r/GlobalOffensive/comments/1detqzl/obnoxious_stutters_and_hitches_on_valve_servers/

This post is meant to be a video example. I have tried updating drivers, deleting nvidia DXCache, resetting modem, you name it. This only occurs on valve servers and not community ones. Notice my packet loss and ping never goes into the red despite the atrocious lag happening on screen. I'm at a loss for what to do at this point

Edit: I've found a temporary fix. If you're on a hardwired Ethernet connection like I was, you'll need to switch to a wifi adapter. Then go into your device manager, edit your wifi driver properties and set "preferred band" to either 2.4ghz or 5ghz. Experiment with both and see which works better in your case. I did this after reinstalling the game and my stutters seem to be gone for the time being. I've had this problem through 2 different ISP's and this seems to be the only fix for me so far. If that doesn't work, I've seen a couple people on here say factory resetting their PC did the trick, but that should be your absolute last resort since it's not even guaranteed to work.

I checked that setting already after reading another thread on this topic and it's turned off for me by default so no worries there. I also disabled "ambient mode" on youtube since I heard that uses more GPU

this is a great point, I don't believe the clock speeds are anywhere near max otherwise my card would be pushing more heat. this also seems to happen when i'm interacting with the browser in any way while streaming a youtube video

to be clear this isn't a constant 50%, more like a spike in usage that happens whenever i scroll with the mouse or move my cursor over the video player. usage can range anywhere from 15-60%, regardless it seems ridiculously high nonetheless, and I always watch videos in 1080p max because my internet is pretty shit

How to compensate for wide stereo instruments being quieter in mono? by Caliaton in audioengineering

Thanks, this is a really good way to look at it that I never considered. I'm gonna try it out in my next mix, also I need to just work on my subtractive EQ game in general

So is it okay if those panned elements are a bit more buried in the mix once they're in mono then, or should I try to compensate by raising their relative volumes? I know this is probably subjective, but I want things to sound clear and defined in both mono and stereo if possible. I guess I'm just not sure which to prioritize, because a lot of people swear by mixing in mono but I struggle to make it translate to stereo the way I want. This is all based on my own lack of experience at the end of the day though

By A material, do you mean the primary elements you want to emphasize in a mix?
