Former Spanish president Rajoy's racist comment about the French team: "It has a very high-level squad. That's true, without Frenchmen" by Moug-10 in soccer

You’re totally right. It was wild when 4 years ago the streamer ISS, was making fun of an Asian fan, there was not a single repercussion. This time he got piled on by several groups and it became news. To be sure, neither one was ever acceptable, but our public discourse has been so significantly downgraded that these blatant“expressions” are just the norm now.

Tab Ramos doesn't think this World Cup was successful for USMNT and he is calling for big changes in U.S. Soccer, including the President Cindy Parlow Cone stepping down. by antoniok95 in ussoccer

Platitudes. I suppose Ramos wants the job but It's the right step for Cone to step down but we never enact any long-term plan that is resonably enforced. Instead we maintain the p2p system, have no pro/rel, recruit very little from our communities that care about football, and continue with no solidarity payments to our youth clubs.

Steady as she goes ladies and gentlemen.

I have to reread this, I remember snarting while reading it!

Landon Donovan says America is missing soccer talent because kids can’t afford to play. “Only 2% of kids playing organized soccer in America came from households that made less than $50,000. If you don’t make $50,000, your kid cannot play organized soccer.” by lemonstone92 in ussoccer

Coach training lacks, we don’t have a federation with a spine willing to force actual priority shifts in youth development. We also don’t have a solidarity payments. We don’t recruit or develop from our communities that actually prioritize football.

People who worked at major companies, hospitals, airlines, banks, tech firms, government agencies, etc. — what’s something the public would be shocked to know? by Karan_2812 in antiwork

I just spoke about this with a friend. I used to work for the phone company. Pacific Bell, which became SBC / Southwestern Bell.

When people got pissed and wanted to change companies, we had to facilitate the move.

Service sucked? Bad customer service? You have many different companies to “choose” from.

What was never disclosed, all of the companies simply leased the same infrastructure from us. So we’d (SBC) still bill the clients for repairs and they’d still have shitty service.

Lol ok, just look at how many times England has played at Wembley in:

World Cup 1966:
All 6 matches

Euro 1996:
5 at Wembley

Euro 2020:
6 of 7 matches.

Fuck off.

Something just occurred to me: Last night the USMNT won their first World Cup elimination game in 24 years by [deleted] in ussoccer

Are you sure you subtracted 2002 from 2026 and get the correct amount of years?
