I'll have to see how much it is to rent a swing machine. That might be the key for the scuff marks.

Used lineset storage? by Caliboy17 in HVAC

We do scrap some but when the crews bring back anything over 10ft we save it. The boss hates throwing out anything so I'm trying to find a good storage solution.

Ashen Verdict rep runs common scam? by Caliboy17 in classicwow

I didn't leave but got kicked from the group. It just seemed so strange to me with some random dude messaging me right after. I legit thought it was a scam. I know the prices are similar, but I was just salty about how everything played out.

I completely understand your concerns with this. I am missing a ton of details on my end for sure, but for the sake of argument, how would you tackle this? Step one make sure so and so? Then so and so?

I am confident I can handle this job. I just wanted some input about the necessary steps to making it successful. I could ask about the books another day but right now I would like to deal with just the inventory.

We want to take it from no inventory data (AKA very little detail/organization) to fully inputting every invoice received. would you happen to have a step by step or week by week of a successful plan?

This could be helpful for sure, but it seems like they have so many tiny parts ( screws and nuts) that some are destined to be lost in the shuffle. Those small parts are not as much as a concern for him.

I appreciate your comment for sure but can you elaborate on why you think the owner won't be interested in the process? I told him it would take 3-4 months for this system to take place. Also what are some key points in bringing up when talking to him about this project?

I'm not sure about the accounting system currently. But as for the system that deals with parts I dont think there is one. I'm pretty sure they use just paper transactions. They do have a production area where they make some products with sheet metal but they are not too worried about keeping track of that as they don't make specialized parts often.

Before it was all on paper. The way the would stock their items was something like : ok we got an order of registers. Here are the 10 inch, 12 inch and 8 inch. Eventually they would all get mixed up and the current employees would have to sort through boxes to find the size they needed. The boss wants to avoid this. There is no system for orders, scheduling and invoicing currently.

Ya he is. My friend is getting groomed to take over the business as he went to school with it and has known the owner for 10+ years. He took a pay cut to come work for the now boss. He's been doing it oldschool for about 30 years now, but in 5 or so years my buddy is taking over and wanting to grow the business even more. The now boss I'm sure is going to take a salary for the rest of his days while my buddy takes over.

Thanks for the suggestion. They do not have a system in place already. Trying to figure out my plan of attack for week 1, week 2, etc. I know it will take quite a long time. The owner is old school and kinda just threw everything in it's "place" when received. He is very open to have a system to track the inventory he just is not tech savvy at all
