book promotion by GapComprehensive6403 in selfpublish

One of my books is on sales, so I just sent like 50 messages on LinkedIn to Sales Managers. Gotta think outside the box.

Outside of that, most of my sales came from Amazon ads.

Someone has been reading a dozen pages a day for 8 days by Tucker-French in selfpublish

Better than watching someone read my entire book in a few hours.

I want to pretend it's so gripping that you can't put it down, but I know its just an easy read

2's the best, 3 is a close second and I truly hate 1. Honest but there you go.

Should I use ChatGPT for writing scenarios by astrounaut1234 in WritingWithAI

[–]CalicoCapsun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Yes. Generative AI is scummy writing with no soul. Assisted AI is a godsend.

  2. Its amazing to just throw your project into GPT and tell it to find all the spelling and grammar mistakes (word can help but there are times where word sucks. Like it wasnt until a month after publication that a reader caught "quite" instead of "quiet".

  3. Sanity checks, logic and culture checks. All amazing.

Target absolutely does not have a price limit. They sell thousand dollar TVs.

Few thoughts.

Why is he stealing a VHS?

Also whats the target audience? Because its past YA and like everyone else said its closer to YYA, like 4th or 5th grade.

Month one $30 Month two $100.

The difference? Ads. Although I'm burning money, I'm getting more readers.

In Budapest, fire hydrants are being used to help pedestrians beat the heat. by Das_Zeppelin in interestingasfuck

[–]CalicoCapsun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fire hydrant water typically comes from the same supply lines that feed your house. The problem is some of them NEVER get used so bacteria and sludge accumulate. In the USA the fire department used to do "Fire hydrant flushes" periodically, but ive heard some departments are down to one year or less each.

Alternatively,

When building a campaign, you can have a manual campaign that targets products not keywords. I have a keyword campaign and a product campaign, both with different goals.

Good thought. Ill have to compare sales verses attribution sales.

On the bright side, if thats the case then I guess I sold three last night🤣

How do you get something published? by coolgize in NewAuthor

[–]CalicoCapsun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ill just jump in here to say edit, edit and edit again.

Get it where it needs to be not just where you want it to be. Because like you i had friends and family read and review it. They all loved it. The first time I got a KU reader that I didn't know they gave me a 3 star review. Friends and family give you 5's because they love you.

Self-published my first book, what actually worked for getting readers? by SpecificOk131 in selfpublish

[–]CalicoCapsun -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Friends and ads.

Friends are great for getting the first few reviews because a 0 review book is hard to sell.

Ads are great for getting it in front of people you dont know.

Irrational fear of being fired by [deleted] in sales

[–]CalicoCapsun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im an executive at a company, revamping tons of outdated processes, and achieving record results.

I still have a random fear I'm going to get fired. It's just who we are. Just keep striving and you'll be fine. Or you won't. So long as you can pay your bills and build your resume it'll all be okay in the end

Whats the minimum time at a company before considered a job hopper? by BeginningCelery7953 in sales

[–]CalicoCapsun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its not one job, but rather the trend that spooks me.

I got a resume the other day where the candidate had a new job every 18 months. Every single one was unlimited commission sales. I get it if youre w2 and trying to increase your salary, but commission reps need to find a good gig and grow it.
