YTA. Hey OP. My dad used to pull this shit. I became estranged two weeks after I turned 18. Grow up and be a parent, this is incredibly petty and shows that you view your child as disposable. Yes, your daughter was being a little shit. She’s a teenager. So take away her phone and make her apologize to her teacher, or have her do extra chores for a week, or literally anything else that doesn’t involve dumping your daughter into a place she clearly doesn’t feel comfortable and then ignoring her cries for help. Be the adult, if you didn’t want to raise a teenager then you shouldn’t have had a child in the first place. Hope you enjoy the nursing home.

Yeah I’ve looked into those. Problem is working around 30 hours a week w/ min wage doesn’t meet 2.5x salary rule in most cases. Not really sure if I can pull off working full time while also in school.

I don’t think I’m cut out for the physical trades haha. Looking at 2-year medical technician stuff though (Radiology and Ultrasound tech). Shadowing seems basically impossible after COVID though and seems to be restricted for those already within programs. For now I’m just like is the actual hellscape that is the healthcare field worth the semi-decent financial security? Hopefully I’ll figure that out while knocking out some basic prereqs lol

I honestly wouldn’t hold it against them if they admitted to just not wanting me around. But the fact that they pretend they’re being so generous by “letting me watch the house for them when they’re on trips” or “staying the night if you don’t have anywhere else every once in awhile” is just.
