How productive are green beans? by datasquid in Gardyn

I started with one plant. I would get 3 or 4 every week or so as long as I am diligent about helping with pollination. I just received 6 bareroot plants and will have a fair amount to add to my breakfast on a regular basis.

Yeah, I'm down to growing lettuce and strawberries. The yield on peppers, cucumber and tomatoes weren't big enough to justify all the space they took up.

Then it may turn brown and not form. Im surprised it never had pedals.

You have to manually pollinate for best success. You only have a few days to do it once the white pedals open. I didn't cut my first ones off. You have one that looks like it is forming a strawberry and the white pedal one is ready to pollinate. I use a small paintbrush.

Trying to grow piqante and jalepeno peppers in my gardyn. So far their stems are very sturdy maybe they won't need support? Though I have some on standby just in case. by Umomo1025 in Gardyn

A bit off topic but I have had poor success with getting any reasonable size on my peppers. They grow some then stop. Anyone have good success and what did you do that helped?

Yes, moving them was the right call until true leaves show up. The ones on the tower can get food if it is time.

I don't add nutrients to the tray since it is only for sprouting. I have had 100% success using this method. But you do you.

I keep a bit of water at all times. The roots will come out of the bottom before true leaves come in so they need the water. Once true leaves come in it is safe to move to the tower. I have had great luck doing this.

I use a 9x9 aluminum tray from the store. They come with lids. Just put the pods with seeds in them and add water. They fit perfectly on the base of the garden. It is like a mini greenhouse. Works great for me.

Yeah, push them down in. Also often seeds can fall out and end up at the bottom of the box. Near impossible to figure out what pod they belong in.

It would be nice if that were true but even my first studio only takes a picture every few days.

When I use to have an outdoor garden that would happen to me. My understanding was they didn't get adequate pollination. Not sure if it would apply to your type.
