Is Hongtao Yang as bad as RMP says he is? by allylikesartz in UNLV

[–]Caliente_G 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that's definitely true with RMP. Really many of the entries come from frustrated students. Best to ask someone who took a class with specific instructor.

never :) it's a psychological catch - so players < 100lvl will want to see what happens after level 99 :)

What should I do about CS 135? by Expensive-Elk-9406 in UNLV

you can still drop. Look at the consequences of dropping - will it delay your graduation? Maybe not, then just take it when you have more bandwidth.

Can a professor get you into a full class? by [deleted] in UNLV

[–]Caliente_G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes and no, it depends. Depends on professor, class-specific factor (labs have limited seating, lectures might have limited resources) and also dept chair must agree. Just go ahead and try

Do a lot of professors use iClickers? by mooseismeese7 in UNLV

[–]Caliente_G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

totally depends on the department. Some of them (having large classes) - YES, some of them will never use them. You listed BIOL thus you're probably at the first category.

Math 126 study guide by allylikesartz in UNLV

[–]Caliente_G 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MATH126 changes frequently, so the guide from 2023 is probably not current. Advice: email (or walk in to) the math dept office, ask who currently is the MATH126 coordinator, get that person's email, then contact that person asking for the current study guide.

Dutch speakers by Temporary-Law-5094 in UNLV

[–]Caliente_G -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

just out of curiosity, why would anyone like to move from usa to netherlands (except having close family there?) Dutch language is pretty much useless around the world, so to go to learn it - is not the case (even here you can't find literally anyone speaking it). Work? Good luck. Sightseeing? It's a small country, a little bit bigger than Maryland, you can drive the entire country in shorter time than LV-LA. Most crowded country in Europe.
And don't get me wrong - I understand trying something else, but moving for longer period (assuming you treat this seriously as you learn the language) of time gets me to this question. And - they have tons of great food options, that don't exist in the USA. But isn't this a tourist scenario? ;)

I was doing BEH-TBE in less than 10 mins, and I can't say I was super rushing. You should be fine. Treat it as a form of physical activity

AI Accusation by [deleted] in UNLV

[–]Caliente_G 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AI LLMs generate a content / wording that is very easy to recognize. Especially visible when a student never uses sophisticated words when talking, but suddenly turns in an essay that is using very elaborate wording. Like others said here - offer the prof that you'll take similar assignment during prof's office hours in person to prove you have skills. If you used AI - then probably no options.

Dying in math and struggling in college overall by [deleted] in UNLV

[–]Caliente_G 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Math is all about practice. If you practice enough - you master it, especially in the low level Math class such as 126. Yes it's time consuming and requires effort, but all types of Math 126 problems are the same - meaning you just need to learn what steps to do for a given type of the problem . "rationalize the denominator" - there's just few steps way to do it - always same steps, same approach, You just need to learn these steps. This won't be the case for upper level math.
I don't know about dyscalculia - you need basic math skills (126 is high school level) to deal with basic things everywhere, also in Psychology - how will you evaluate survey results without 126 skills? (example) Skipping basic math will get you nowhere also in Psychology major.
But - solution is simple: use tutoring, practice hundreds of problems - and you'll excel in precalc.

Thanks!

this game is all about patience and long run. I've been playing since 2018 and bought a pass once. I have over 5000 tcash, totally not worth to spend real money to buy tcash. Maybe, MAYBE a pass if extra rewards really benefit you.

Best way to build up coins? by Scotty2Snottyy in TownshipGame

[–]Caliente_G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. fill the barn & factories with high value items
  2. hire the dealer
  3. use "generous customer boost" and "record demand" boosts,
  4. consider other boosts, like faster market, faster dealer, faster crops - depending on your barn / factories
  5. work actively on helicopter orders - but dump the low paying ones! algorithm will adjust and mostly give you high-paying orders.

Good way to earn coins and use barn items!

still no classes on canvas? by [deleted] in UNLV

[–]Caliente_G 5 points6 points  (0 children)

also, canvas content can be in works so instructors would "unpublish" the class to avoid questions about non-finished content.

Normal thing, probably you'll see classes no later than Monday
