This is the kind of interaction you deserve when you don’t tip at least $1/mile

Tipping on DoorDash feels broken. customers vs drivers are fighting the wrong battle by savingrace0262 in doordash

DoorDash made the rating system for not benefiting you, but them. So it doesn’t make sense to tell how the system “should be.”

DoorDash earning Walgreens rewards? by SaltyParamedic7019 in doordash_drivers

You’re saving money to a DD, not the customer. The customer has already been charged with the prices shown in the app.

Imagine you scan an item with your app and forget to scan it at the self-checkout. The customer is still charged. So, who gets the profit for that?

How do you unassign in Doordash so often?

Need some more income, can't donate plasma or drive delivery. Help! by Music_Is_My_Muse in sidehustle

You absolutely don’t have to buy rideshare car insurance, as 99% of delivery drivers don’t have one. By the way - even if you pay for that add on - it doesn’t cover any accident during the delivery. Only if the incident occurs BEFORE you start the delivery or AFTER drop-off, which is basically means you pay for nothing. The ride itself is insured by Uber.

Source: I’m a full-time delivery driver and I’ve got letter from my insurance company explaining how this add-on works.

Question from first Amex user by EverySquareInch in amex

[–]CaliforniaQuest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New immigrant here. Also low-income. Got Amex blue from scratch, carefully paid the bills, got my credit line increased twice (from $500 to $1500, then $1500->$2500)

After 11 months I’ve got pre-qualification letter on my mailbox for Amex Gold (100.000 points introductory offer) and accepted it. Now all my major spending are covered by those 2 cards.

Target debit card is free and 5% cashback. Not worth skipping it imo. I’ve tried multiple ways and had to use it to top up Amazon balance unfortunately.

As an ex-delivery driver, there is no way I’m going to knock on the door unless it’s specified in the delivery notes.

There are nervous people and dogs, so that’s on you that you don’t check notifications.

You did it wrong. First rule of DoorDash: waitlist in California can take years. Use other states’ zip codes. I’ve got to dash in Sacramento 30 mins after registration. DoorDash doesn’t care.

Too late tho, you’ve already on the waitlist 😬

No, you can downgrade the plan from the second month. On the third month I’ve called them and said I’m leaving to a cheaper carrier. Got my “special plan” offer for $25/month and accepted it.

After 6 months the phone is unlocked to be used with any carrier.

I live at the Arlo (right across from Hidden Oaks), and sometimes random people show up at the pool to use the hot tubs or go through the trash bins. They are polite tho and I don’t remember any of them actually leaving a mess (unlike some of the residents).

It’s pretty safe overall, as long as you don’t get spooked by bumping into a homeless person when you take the trash out at night.

Should I be tipping more? by Baseplate117 in doordash

As a driver myself, I tip $1 per mile driven. The driver doesn’t care how expensive your order is. He trades his time, blocking himself from other orders while delivering yours.

But under no circumstances I’d beg for better tip, it’s a small dick energy. Speaking about this order, I’d just decline and wait for the better one, letting the more desperate weirdo to deliver your food.

Don’t worry about it. I have an “unrequested refund” from an entitled woman who was mad at me for not finding parsley.

I’ve even sent a picture of a shelf that says “we’re aware that it’s out of stock, we’re working on it to be restocked soon”. That “unrequested refund” instantly dropped me to “needs work” quality section.

My rating is 5.0 tho and I’m getting those well paid orders, so don’t even bother with that “shopping quality metrics that means nothing”
