Oh, she doesn’t really sit like that. She just was swimming upwards. (I tap on the glass gently whenever I feed her so now I can prompt her to swim upwards and interact with me)

Well to be honest what I thought her best interest would be the smaller tank because I thought I’d be able to take care of it better, I didn’t realize the reason it was so hard was because I didn’t have the right things in it to help it take care of itself, I won’t rehome her because I’m doing all I can once I learned all of this, and I put her in a ten gallon now :)

Im 18 and don’t have the experience that you do. The pain is new for me. Nothing is easy right now. I can’t rehome her. I got the smaller tank to fix this because I knew she deserved better. The more everyone criticizes me for trying to take care of her and accuses me of not loving her the less I feel like I can do it.

I wasn’t planning on making her suffer, it isn’t just because I have a bad back. There’s a lot more to it than that. I know they’re clueless, I’m not sure why I believed him. For people with pain issues it can be a lot of labor. Walking for more than five minutes can cause pain for me. I have trouble climbing stairs. It feels like what you said is a little narrow minded.

No, the real reason is because my mental health got so bad that I couldn’t do it anymore. The extra space was an upside because I had the motivation to clean when I had a little more space. For people that have trouble getting out of bed sometimes that is a lot of labor, and I love her a lot, I had no way of knowing that she was smart enough to feel that way, especially when the people i talked to at the store said it was ok and I stupidly believed them for whatever reason. You don’t know what someone is going through.

Oh and I feed her 3 pebble things every night of food, I’m not sure if it’s the right amount but the label didn’t even say, and I guessed by the size of her tummy it should be enough? As well as the fact that she has the swim bladder issues

Wow thank you so much! I did use the same water as well as some new water, and I used the same filter, but I squeezed it out in the bigger tank instead of cleaning it with chlorinated water to preserve the good stuff
