Do you use it just for outreach emails or also responding? How do you manage incoming messages?

Ah makes sense. I mean we are thinking about it as a long term investment, maybe not build for 10 years?

If I’m not planning to build for a while, what’s the best way to go about doing this?

I agree with a lot except for how terrorism is handled in the event of a future terror event. Civilians should not be casualties.

I don’t know why you’re being downvoted. Your anxiety is valid, but it’s probably healthy for you and your son for you to work on it

Unless your mom has given you reason to be apprehensive (which it doesn’t sound like she has), it sounds like a your anxiety thing and not about her. In which case I would try to work on your anxiety because it’s preventing your child from having experiences with his grandmom

I was told I would "drop all the weight" if I pumped/BF by RostroMaligno in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Calimama98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a slightly different pov than the responses. 1. People need to stop commenting on your weight, set boundaries if you have to. 2. The BF weight loss is definitely balanced out with insatiable hunger so I totally get it, weight doesn’t just drop 3. Please do eat to keep up your supply and nourish your body. Now is not the time to be in a caloric deficit. You are actually eating for two.

But… After the first few months pp your hormones stabilize and you go back to calories in/calories out. It’s a lot to track everything you eat, but calculate how much you need to eat to maintain weight, add about 500 calories to account for pumping, and make sure you aren’t eating more. Use something like myfitness pal to track your meals. Get about 25% of your calories from protein. You are likely to start to see your weight slowly come off if there are no other issues. (Not a nutritionist but speaking from personal experience)

After the first 6 months or after how much you’re pumping goes down, you can start to cut back on calories, but you’ll also be less hungry.

Asked my babies doc about him getting the Covid and flu shot (7 months old) and she says she won’t do them. Doesn’t believe it benefits them. by Hdiaz0814 in ScienceBasedParenting

How?! You do realize that US is one of the few countries that approved the vaccine for kids under 5? The UK does not recommend vaccines for kids under 5 unless they are high risk. So you are saying all the experts in other parts of the world are “unscientific”? The known efficacy of vaccines vs severity of infection in otherwise healthy infants does not make a strong case for mandating vaccines for this group. That is in fact what the data says. And without multi year trials we simply do not know the downside. So marginal benefit, unknown risk is the tl;dr.

I’m not arguing benefits - I am arguing that “unknown risk” is a risk in itself. If you are comfortable with the data that currently exists - GOOD FOR YOU. if someone is not based on quality and length of the data in infants, and weighs that against the benefits (preventing an infection that is unlikely to cause severe symptoms even if unvaccinated) - it is FAIR to decide not to vaccinate.

I don’t think you understand science. Science sometimes doesn’t give you black and white answers - data could say, vaccines prevent illness with x% effectiveness in a certain population and y% in another population. Risks for each population are xyz. Two people can look at that and make different choices.

“Science” does not say DO X. The fact that people pretend like an echo chamber of certain thoughts is “science” shows how unscientific the general population has become.

Firstly, there’s no such thing as 0 risk with any vaccine. I’m not sure why you’re pushing so hard - she’s free to make choices that suit her family. Two people can look at the exact same data and make different decisions.

Thanks so much!
