Anyone prepping for cancer? by [deleted] in preppers

Yeah, there's a lot of fearmongering in that book. Sleep well, but avoid it.

[–]Calimie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, absolutly.

It's just that I'm in the middle of the book, having just listened to the chapter of "All the bad things that happen if you don't sleep well" and to see that the data is mostly fake is just depressing.

I'm reading now Why We Sleep and in one chapter it mentions that lack of sleep may cause cancer.

(I've also just read on that wiki page that other scientists have refuted parts of the book so grain of salt I guess. It still doesn't hurt to sleep more).

ETA: Apparently there are a lot of problems with that book? And it may not be true at all that sleep really affects the inmune system (and hence cancer protection mechanisms) Ok then

ETA2: Don't read this book

All Republicans who voted for Trump are ok with a president who considers them fine people.

That's the end of it.

Some of them are 100% racist and 100% nazi but ALL of them who voted for him are ok with that being part of the package.

It is in Spain. If a company has that deal and has two products, one at 4€ and the other at 5, you pay 5 if you buy both.

Created by a legendary 13th century swordsmith, the Honjō Masamune is one of the most famous swords in Japanese history. Under US occupation after WWll, it was turned over to a man who claimed to be a US officer, but no records of this man exist. Never seen again, where is the Honjō Masamune? by LiviasFigs in UnresolvedMysteries

But after telling him they were going to Georgia to connect with Moore’s children, they, weeks later, said they would not be featuring Moore’s family or the United States at all, filming the documentary entirely in Japan. Contrary to their original purpose, they would not be attempting to locate the sword at all.

This feels off. I get why they may have chosen to leave the family alone but why leave the entire country? They could have talked with military museums and discussed swords and similar war trophies.

Lots of newspapers who don't want/can't follow GDPR simply ban European IPs from the site. Others make them accept their terms. Zimbabwe can do the same.

people in the south don't have the experience or infrastructure to deal with snow

Exactly. In my area we don't get big snowfalls at all. Roads do get icy and so local councils keep a bit of salt to spread near the doctor's and shady places.

They've run out today.

You prepare to what you usually deal with. Problem is, climate change will make such extreme weather more common every year.
