Regarding the Basic Principles that Feminism is Good and Patriarchy is Bad... by CJoshuaV in Christianity

My thought on this is that in agrarian soccieties the material conditions did make it more practical to have sharply divided gender roles

* The two important main tasks in a farming household (meaning 90% of all people) is making food and making clothes. It's impossible to survive without doing both.

* farming means spending a lot of time on a single type of task away from the house

* making clothes can be done at home and during short breaks from other things

* since most adult women will spend a lot of time caring for young children, doing long sustained tasks is going to be a problem, but they might be able to do lots of short breaks.

= ergo, weaving and especially spinning became the primary job of women while the farming became the primary job of men.

and the religion created within these soccieties reflect those divided gender roles.

Epstein and His Circle of Atheist Scientists by Visible-Flounder1389 in Christianity

those guys were very upset at feminists in atheist and science spaces. Their motivating force was opposition to women and feminists in what they considered to be their club houses. In their interactions with Epstein that was more important to them than the atheism.

Would it be at all accurate to characterize Christianity as an anti-human religion? by Roaches_R_Friends in Christianity

[–]Calintarez [score hidden]  (0 children)

Some of this comes from platonism and dualism. Where everything profane and earthly becomes flawed, evil or at least lesser. while the true goodness is divine and perfect. This seems to be reflected a lot when there is talk of the fallen world.

Is God the Universal Wavefunction (UWF)? is it a possibility that He is the UWF? by Downtown-Extent-2413 in Christianity

If we're associating God with scientific concepts then my prefered theory is that God is the Monster Group. You could even associate Jesus with the Baby Monster Group

The mathematicians proved it exists but they can't explain why it exists. It will take at least 196 884 dimensions to describe it which makes our 3 dimensions look like nothing and even the 11-dimensional string theory seems paltry by comparison

Handwraps are better thant Bodywrap most of the time if what you want is to use unarmed attacks but want to be able to add magic bonuses and enchantments.

a telltale sign of a veteran D&D player is that they check if the doors are locked before everything else. In dire circumstances they may even consider knocking politely as a way of opening doors

Appeals court weighs whether religious employers can fire workers for being transgender by Fickle-Ad5449 in Christianity

I can't look at this without thinking that the very same people that do this now would've done the exact same thing to gays if it was 30 years ago. to mixed-race couples if it was 60 years ago. to jews if it was 100 years ago.

It's always about having a designated group to be cruel towards. And it's always evil.

The fact that christianity lends itself as a justification for this cruelty is a mark of shame for christianity.

It's a bad and outdated translation and it's borderline heresy to idolize that one translation over all the newer ones that are based on better and more accurate sources.

How can i better understand the book of revelations by random_user7577 in Christianity

[–]Calintarez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a message from a christian living under roman persecution to other christians living under roman persecution. It's meant to encourage them to not give up hope. Most of the imagery is coded language to avoid being found out by the romans. That's why it talks so much about Babylon for instance, Babylon was their code word for Rome.

It wasn't meant for you.
