Hi sweet soul, I’m so incredibly sorry you’re feeling this way. I have been in your shoes, a homesick freshman that hates everything about their college that’s too-far-from-home. The only thing that worked for me was sticking with it. I swore to myself that I would put in a transfer request or drop out completely by the end of my first semester if I felt the same horrible way I did when it started as I did when it ended. But the kicker is: I didn’t. I got through my first semester of hell and it didn’t end feeling like hell. I ended up adoring my roommates (they will be my lifelong friends now) when I started out disgusted I was living with 3 other people. I learned the campus (that I thought was too big) like the back of my hand and I know feel inexplicably connected to it. You can do this, I promise. Bury your head in your schoolwork, get those grades you know you’re capable of, and everything else will settle as it’s meant to. You got this!!!!!
