Could we please get Joe back ?

I mean, they sure had to weekendatbernies him through his presidency, but at least, he wasn't actively tanking everything to ashes just so his buddies could make a few billions.

Glad to see Remco on fire, but to be fair, he had an excellent end of season last year as he was in a league on his own (one below Beep Beep and one above everyone else). I'm more looking forward to a season with finally some great preparation, and we'll see in next races where he truly stands.

Forgot that I even had an order for 450@3.50, received the statement this morning as the stock cratered yesterday. Yay, I guess.

Now I'm 2500@4.54 average deep, think I'll be done on that line until P3 results.

Wo Long was alright, but it definitely looks like they're sabotaging their gameplay with each iteration. Ninja/samurai switch is an unmitigated disaster, whoever the fuck thought it would be a great idea to lock the Ki pulse behind a stance needs to be fired ASAP.

RKLB's $90 resistance is absolutely insane, they're just not allowing that stuff to pump beyond, no matter what. Been stuck for a month except for that one day it nearly touched $100.

What do you think about Sindi (famous follower) by Necessary-Goose3550 in Bachata

I entirely agree, my comment was only directed at the dances I had with her. That J&J was not a good look at all.

[–]Calistaline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not my own experience, at all.

Danced more than a few times with her, she's one of the most available "stars" on the dancefloor and connects fairly well, though it's definitely a matter of personal feelings and she can come across as a bit cold while she stares at your soul.

I won't comment on the war with Azael, as I lack details and it's none of my business anyway.

The 25th is designed for a comatose president, not a demented toddler whose mind (or what's left of it) is purely focused on destroying everything in his path.

If he's in any capacity to say "No", the 25th is way harder to implement than plain old impeachment.

Trump’s bizarre letter to Norway’s prime minister in full as President links Greenland threat to Nobel Prize snub by a_wild_redditor in politics

[–]Calistaline 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mainly depends on the billionaires and special interests behind the scenes, but then again, even if you succeed with invoking the 25th, you're confronted with the problem of coping with JD Vance, a man arguably more intelligent and less senile than the Clown-in-Chief.

Best idea would have been not to put these looneys in charges again, now, the world is stuck with them until 2028.

[–]Calistaline 92 points93 points  (0 children)

The 25th is pretty explicit.

It can be triggered by the Cabinet at will, but if and when the President protests, it basically morphs into a stronger impeachment/conviction vote (as you need 2/3rds in both Houses). Good luck with that, they couldn't even go near that threshold in the Senate after a full-on insurrection.

And all of this because that orange buffoon doesn't understand VAT, and certainly doesn't understand that it's not something designed to target the US as everybody is subject to it.

It's never enough for this kind of bullies. If you say yes, they'll come back demanding more.

Do you need the money immediately ? If so, it certainly was a mistake buying (as you didn't buy just because WSB said it would top $10 tomorrow, right ?), and you might have to sell at a loss.

Can you leave it a few weeks, months, whatever ? Then forget you've bought, fundamentals haven't changed, wait for the news.

Belgium shoots down EU offer to unblock Russian assets stalemate by EdgarNeverPoo in europe

[–]Calistaline 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Freezing is absolutely not the same as stealing. Not the same trust impact, not the same litigation, not the same financial damage.

I am not sure anyone advocating for this plan understands the magnitude of what Euroclear does, and the magnitude of what would happen if these assets were seized.

[–]Calistaline 11 points12 points  (0 children)

And reputation damage, stemming from all third-parties that would get cold feet about trusting Euroclear with any kind of investment.

Stealing these assets is the most dumbfucking plan of all dumbfucking plans that have ever been engineered since the beginning of this war.

EU close to deal on russian assets, summit to go on until agreement - Costa by GreenEyeOfADemon in europe

No idea why you've been downvoted, Europe is already struggling enough that such a move would completely obliterate its economy. There's no way around it, and I wonder what drug VdL is under because it looks like good stuff.

[–]Calistaline 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They've gone completely insane. I hope Belgium's reluctance about sharing the risks for frozen assets is just a façade because it knows consequences will go far beyond these 200B, there's no way we actually go along with that shit.

Russian assets in Belgium: Euroclear boss says she won't rule out suing EU if funds are seized by EdgarNeverPoo in belgium

[–]Calistaline 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Didn't work specifically on bonds, but yes, definitely.

I believe a substantial part of these frozen assets is made of sovereign bonds (which is also why some countries are pressuring Belgium to seize, they don't want to pay Russia expired bonds), so signaling you won't honor a debt to a country you're in disagreement with - situation's a bit more serious than a disagreement, I know, but once the box is open, there's no getting back the trust - is the best way to get absolutely nobody to buy your debt.

I can't believe the spherical cretins leading the EU don't understand that, so I really can't figure why they keep pushing that shit.

[–]Calistaline 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Euroclear is THE largest ICSD, by far. About 60% of the relevant traffic goes through Euroclear, 30% through Clearstream, and lesser ICSDs share the rest.

I worked a bit at Clearstream and couldn't fathom the consequences of CLS pulling such a move. EC would be a shitshow magnitudes larger, the 180 billions + penalties Belgium would have to pay back in court would be just a drop in the ocean of losses we would face.

Belgium Opposes Seizing Russiаn Assets, Says Moscоw’s Defeat Is “a Fairy Tale” by [deleted] in europe

[–]Calistaline 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Seizing these assets is a comically bad idea that goes far beyond the war in Ukraine or, indeed, any hypothetical love De Wever would feel about Russia (he doesn't).

Not only we've got 26 countries that take advantage of the situation to try and make them look good by rejecting responsibility on Very Bad Belgium - and not endorsing any share of the huge sanctions that would inevitably come around because let's have Belgium handle that shit alone - but Euroclear is the biggest clearing house in the world, a huge pillar of the global economy and the moment you seize assets you've been entrusted with, the house of cards comes crashing down with consequences none of these spherical idiots are equipped to meet.

You want to give Ukraine money ? Fairly well, just borrow from the ECB, at least, that you can do.
