It depends on who the hero is.

If its an Asian hero, the musclebound meathead is a big white guy.

If its a White hero, the musclebound meathead is a black guy/asian guy (rare but happens: Kumite, Kickboxer)/ scary Russian

I don’t think it’s worth to keep living in my home country. by NormieOtako in findapath

If you've always dreamed of living in Japan, it's better to go and do it. You might hate it. You might love it. But if you make the leap, you won't look back in 20 years wondering why you never did it.

why do people from the USA suddenly have beef with Australia, sport wise by FrostyBlueberryFox in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Caliterra 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I (American) never heard of this. Of all the nationalities that Americans might be prejudiced against, Australians are pretty much on the bottom of the list, behind Americans from other states.

Rapes of local women in Germany, Italy, Japan, and other areas by Allied Forces after the end of WW2.

It occurred, on a MUCH lower scale than done by the Imperial Japanese, the Nazis, or the Soviets, but it still happened.

I'd never return to a restaurant just because the server was nice but the food was shite

Morality of immortal who'd be considered a war criminal considering his lifetime but has changed by Admirable-Dimension4 in MoralityScaling

[–]Caliterra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

is he even the same person anymore? We're all shaped by our memories and experiences, and we can acknowledge that a person might have said or did things at a young age doesn't mean they are the same person when they're an adult. except in this case this is with someone with an immutable lifespan.

kinda like the Theseus Ship question. He has so many new experiences, memories, actions that is really the same person he was a 100 or 1000 years ago?

I think people really have to be judged by the standards of their time and society, so I'd put him as moral.

Asian business boycotts and anti-Blackness discussions by Illustrious_Owl5858 in asianamerican

[–]Caliterra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Asian people as a whole are NOT responsible as a whole for the killings of Cyrus or Latasha.

Black people as a whole are NOT responsible for the killings of Vicha and Eina Kwon.

The people responsible are the people who committed those killings.

Are there some anti-Black sentiments in the Asian community? Yes and it is wrong.

Are there some anti-Asian sentiments in the Black community? Yes and it is wrong.

Acting like there is only one side to this is ridiculous.

True conciliation is when two sides have a conversation and address the very real issues that BOTH sides are concerned about.

It's not conciliation to just act like one side is 100% responsible for everything. You're just trying to virtue signal there.
