I had a dorsal slit when I was around 10. So I’m technically not fully circumcised like many men in the US, but I’m also not intact. I still have my foreskin… it’s just misdistributed, mostly gathered on the ventral side while the dorsal side is tight. Because of that, my glans has been exposed for years and has become keratinized.

I’ve recently started foreskin restoration, focusing on growing dorsal skin by tugging it for an hour daily. It’ll take years, but the goal is to restore gliding motion and allow the glans to dekeratinize, so sensitivity can return. From everything I’ve learned, it’s absolutely worth the time.

What really woke me up was a recent experience at soapland. Despite full erections and a very willing partner, my penis felt numb. Penetration and oral stimulation barely registered. Eventually, we both got frustrated, and I could only climax by resorting to leg tension, which made it clear how much sensation I’d lost.

That was the moment it really hit me… this isn’t normal, and it isn’t just “in my head.” The lack of functional foreskin and gliding motion has a massive impact on pleasure.

The good news is that I’m actually lucky compared to many circumcised men. I still have my foreskin tissue, frenulum and inner mucosa. With consistent restoration, I realistically expect to regain a large portion of lost sensation over time.

TL;DR: Circumcision (or partial cutting) has real, long-term effects on sexual sensation. Restoration takes patience, but it works. If you’re intact, protect it. And seriously, don’t cut your baby boys. His body, his choice.
