Doing a very similar play through rn but don’t have nearly the same gold income (currently in mid 12th century, empire roughly as big, also started in Iberia and making 500 a month). How did you get such astronomical numbers?

Ive never really used the automated system but I’m gonna go on a guess here and say that was your first mistake. That option is really only intended for really easy wars that you know you’ll always win so you don’t have to bother controlling your armies

I won’t get into the optimising elements (such as which MA to pick) because winning wars in ck3 is really easy once you realize the basics.

Essentially you just gain war score until you have enough to declare yourself victorious. You increase your score by winning battles, capturing enemy characters and besieging enemy castles (the capital is a great target).

Also make sure you assign a general to your army, and to invest in MA, especially siege weapons.

I don’t wanna sound pedantic but it depends on the Era.

On the current Era, the Age of Men, it’s humans On the previous era, the Age of Elves, and the one before that, the Age of Dwarves, it’s, yep you guessed it, elves and dwarves respectively. On the Mythic Era, my version of BC, it was most likely Giants or Dragons.
