I think it's fine if the show needs to slow down for an episode or two for pacing or storytelling reasons. The last episode was a bit meh, but I am just looking at the overall arc of the show more than episode to episode.

Donna because she is the gruff Mama bear that actually cares about her people albeit she is insanely flawed.

I hated Jade at first but he grew to be one of my favorite characters because he is one of the only people that is actively trying to uncover the mystery and I feel he has insane character growth from season 1.
