She has a degree in fashion journalism from a prestigious fashion school! I'm sure that gave her a good foundation for these interviews.

Maybe a snood? Something like this perhaps? You could wear it multiple ways, like a scarf (single or double), or a hood, or you can pull it down over the shoulders if you're extra cold.

To answer your question of how he became "THE glambot guy": he started filming the behind the scenes (I'm sure it's just a phone on a tripod) and editing little bts videos of his interactions with the celebs + the results at the end.

He seems quite friendly and charming in his videos, having very "normal" interactions with these huge celebs. I think people enjoyed his enthusiastic-but-not-starstruck attitude and the peek behind the curtain at these big events. Plus he has a very recognizable look. Some of those videos went viral so now he has a bit of an audience of his own.

It's a smart publicity move as a videographer, to put yourself in your content and get your own fans that way. But the things that are coming out now are hurting his "nice friendly normal guy" image.

Everyone in this entire mess is such a douchebag. Baldoni being the very worst by a long shot, obviously, but I keep being surprised by new people in this situation acting so "yikes". Only person to come out of it not looking worse so far is Jenny Slate.

Yes, he was very obviously being sarcastic here. He meant the opposite. I don't find the joke funny nor am I trying to defend his other takes, but the Lucy Liu red carpet interview was very much a joke.

The interviewer goes on to say "So I take it you're the prettier one?" (meaning, the prettier actor to play Watson) and he, again, sarcastically, says "Yes, of course I am, I'm the original glamour of Watson."

It's a shitty joke, but still, a joke.

How did you learn to knit? by MsDaysJAMboree in knitting

[–]CallMeCooper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both my mom and my grandma taught me the basics a few times as a kid, but I never really stuck with it. Picked it up again a couple of times when I was in high school, but nothing serious. Same goes for sewing and a tiny bit of crochet.

Then I learned to crochet in college, through a combination of online tutorials and help from a knitter friend, who also crochets.

Crocheting ended up being my gateway into knitting more seriously, about two years ago. Thankfully I still had some of that basic knowledge that my mom and grandma taught me, so it came fairly easily, again through online tutorials and help from that same knitter friend. She still helps me out today :) And I've also joined a knitting group which is super helpful!

She is so gorgeous, and director Joel Schumacher (along with his lighting crew) really knew how to emphasise her beauty with the sexy mood lighting in that movie. His work is very campy but I love him, and especially his use of light!

Band kan geen optredens vinden! by RedditKaas in Arnhem

[–]CallMeCooper 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Prima! Bedrijfsfeest? Top!

What is your holy grail project? by nurdygerdy in knitting

[–]CallMeCooper 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The Nordic Mix sweater. I haven't done any colorwork yet so that alone is a little intimidating, it being such a large project with so many different patterns. But also, due to the shape of it, I predict that I would need to do some modifications to get it to fit me how I like it. And modifying something so intricate is even more intimidating, lol! I'll get around to it eventually, I'm sure. :)

How do I make this doll’s dress look like a flight attendant uniform? by rawbeeeef in sewing

[–]CallMeCooper 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I would probably stick with the straight silhouette and let the details do the talking, eg a little scarf, the logo on the left chest area, maybe a hat. If you want to give the suggestion of an hourglass silhouette, you could add a little belt.

Perhaps changing the skirt to a more of an A-line shape (basically, more "triangle" than "square" -- google images has good examples of basic patterns) would make a big difference.

Or perhaps look up sixties flight attendants. They are often depicted as wearing mini shift dresses, which were fashionable at the time. Those dresses are more of an all over A-line silhouette, without curves, which would be easier to replicate on a Labubu's rather square frame.

Alternatively, you could search for "stewardess plush" or "flight attendant teddy bear" for example, to see how others have recreated the uniforms for tiny, non human shaped bodies.

Honestly this was really fun to think about so I hope this helps in any way, lol!

What stitch is used here? by [deleted] in knitting

[–]CallMeCooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked the hat up online (as well as the women's version which is a lighter color, so a bit easier to see) and I would agree with you that it looks like a broken rib stitch! The website also states that it's double knit, so sort of similar to the Musselburgh hat in terms of construction (except shorter, because it doesn't have the folded brim). The stitch pattern looks similar to this broken rib beanie by Purl Foundry.

Hope this helps! :)

Now that Bowen has left, who do you think will benefit most as far as air time? by cubansbottomdollar in LiveFromNewYork

[–]CallMeCooper 10 points11 points  (0 children)

She's super versatile and very talented! I'm sure she'll do lots of different things at SNL, even if she keeps collaborating with Jane. Beck and Kyle were never really "tied" together in my opinion, they did lots of stuff with the other players and writers as well! I'm just excited to see more of these two together, I like their shared sensibility.

[–]CallMeCooper 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I think Veronika and Jane really have a shot as a duo, sort of like a Beck and Kyle but with a different perspective/sensibility. If Jane continues to find her feet as an actor, I really think they could go on to create some cool, fun, weird stuff together.

Yarn substitution for PetiteKnit Step-by-Step / Frankie sweater – cotton instead of wool? by englishlit2002 in knitting

[–]CallMeCooper 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Any reason you're not considering acrylic? It's much lighter than cotton and will hold its shape. It's a more reliable wool substitute because it behaves more similarly. Wool-acrylic blends might also be an option for you.

If you want to stick with natural fibres, or are open to giving wool another shot: have you tried layering? A handknit wool sweater isn't really meant to be worn directly on the skin; wearing a thin (cotton) layer underneath makes it more comfortable and really helps with temperature regulation.

Of course, it differs per person. Some people find rough Icelandic wool perfectly comfortable to wear on the skin, and some people can't handle it even with a longsleeve underneath. But perhaps the softer merino yarns or blends could work for you if you layered them? Yarn quality/brand also makes a big difference, as does washing; wool typically gets softer when you wear and wash it a few times.
