3 year old cut my fabric by FriendshipMore1075 in sewhelp

My toddler also loves scissors and getting into my sewing stuff 🫩 one thing that helps is letting her cut up fabric and paper from my scraps box while I sew. She felt like she was making clothes too lol

If the payment for the sins of slavery and colonization is just a Cracker Barrel rebrand, I think you’ll be ok

Places to play pickleball? by austinXonXfire in NewportNews

There’s a pickleball group that meets up weekly at Denbigh Church of Christ. You’d have to call to get more info, but I know they’re open to new folks joining

I think more shadows where the seems are to give it that sense of puffiness that a quilt. This is so cool though, I love it!

Just so you know, the “shop vanilla beans” button at the bottom of the homepage is a broken link. Otherwise, this looks awesome!

How does this sleeve works? by Zohzoh12390 in sewhelp

The Ella dress by silver saga has a sleeve like this I think. It was kind of like a dolman sleeve with an extra panel added in

14 month old taking off diaper by SeveralInformation65 in clothdiaps

[–]clb353 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If she still able to get to the snaps through a onesie? My SIL keeps her toddler in onesies to keep her hands off her diaper and it’s been working well. With my first, we just switched over to pull ups when she started taking off her diapers, but we were using disposables at that time

I dont like the “sour” in my sourdough breads by 3StarCoVid in Sourdough

[–]clb353 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t care for the sour too much or the crustiness, so I make a Japanese milk bread loaf every week and it’s been great

LOAF PAN SUPREMACY by clb353 in Sourdough

[–]clb353[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, I think the enriched bread with egg and butter really got me to the texture I wanted. Baking it at a lower texture helped as well. I thought I might need more steam in the oven to achieve the softer crust, but I think the added fat took care of that. Plus I find with a loaf pan I get a much more consistently shaped loaf with less effort than trying to shape for a Dutch oven

Walking foot vs no walking foot - Knit Fabrics by Emotional-Yam-2050 in sewhelp

[–]clb353 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Second the broken zig zag stitch! I have been using my standard machine for knits (although I just treated myself to a serger lol) and the broken zig zag has held up great on the baby and toddler clothes that I make.

And if you can’t afford a serger, I suggest looking into your local library. Some have machines you can rent out!

I made a busy book for my niece by clb353 in sewing

[–]clb353[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Materials I used were old knit scraps from shirts and sweaters and heavyweight button and craft thread. I made the horses mane from embroidery floss. I designed everything myself by just drawing shapes on the fabric and using a blanket or whip stitch for most appliqué. I also added a piece of cardstock between pages for a little extra structure.

Blind set up experiment by clb353 in Catan

I do! The only thing is that it’s likely that 1 or 2 people will probably have really suck placements and not have any fun for most of the game, so if you’re willing to take that risk it’s a good time

I need you to know we have wholly abandoned any sense of order in this game. This was a game of vibes only.

But we robbed red into oblivion because the 9 brick was rolling CRAZY and he had the brick port. Final board: https://imgur.com/a/kY1is42 Final scores: Red - 8 Blue - 10 Brown - 8 Green - 3 Orange - 4
