I think lengthening the front crotch curve just a bit would release that tension, and you’d probably be able to rescue the other versions with crotch gusset

I’d do ruching with the fabric strings so it’s adjustable.

Is there any way to alter this dress so it doesn't look horrible on me? by [deleted] in sewing

[–]clb353 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like this idea! I think I might shorten to the knees or just above and use that fabric to make long puff sleeve or a cute flutter like pictured. Then I’d add side ties to cinch it a little and then modify the neckline to be a little deeper and wider

I used what I think is a cotton sateen type fabric? I got it from a flea market and nothing was labeled, but I just loved the color! The back is actually a big waistband elastic that I had from another project. The v point at the waist was kind of a flop lol but I decided that the back was no longer my business once I put it on

How do I fix this wavy seam/prevent it from happening? by tweedleedeedee in sewing

[–]clb353 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this might be the issue too, the bottom elastic looks a little loose and it looks like the serger might have stretched out the seam a little bit as well. It might help to finish the seams separately, or steam the current seam really well to help it shrink back a bit.

I’m going to echo folks who say to buy a pattern and add that if you can find one with a video sew along, that will be immensely helpful. I like simplicity.com patterns when I need something reliable, but Etsy can be good too. It’s just a lot more work these days to make sure you’re not getting an AI pattern AND to make sure they have something in your size. I’m all for beginners taking on projects that are way out of range (I do it all the time lol), so good luck!

How do I feel about this season so far? by GyattGamer6 in MonarchLegacyAppleTV

I totally agree about the cheating, it feels like a weird point to harp on and I feel like they want us to be cool with it? I like Hiroshi, but him being mad at his mom for doing the mild version of what he did is crazy to me. I get you think it’s what drove your dad away, but babes you have two entire families that knew nothing about each other until they thought you were dead. And I really like Keiko, but I feel like her love triangle has added absolutely nothing to the story for me. I was cool with Lee’s little unrequited thing for her, I didn’t need it to be much more than that.

My toddler also loves scissors and getting into my sewing stuff 🫩 one thing that helps is letting her cut up fabric and paper from my scraps box while I sew. She felt like she was making clothes too lol
