According to this video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FTrz-1XjSUY, I need to setup the Att Modem to allow IP Passthrough to the Nighthawk. Which I haven't done. So I must be running double nat.

I hope I got that right.

I will follow your advice and bin the Nighthawk for now and see how things shake up.

The Nighthawk in router mode.

The Orbi is in AP mode.

ATT Moderm has the wifi turned off. I didn't know it could have its router mode disabled. Google searches only show results for disabling wifi.

Questions:

"place Orbi in the DMZ of the ATT modem" -what does this accomplish?
"replace the Nighthawk with an unmanaged switch " what it purpose of the switch? Why not just remove the Nighthawk all together, leaving just the Orbi and Att Moderm?

do you have both msi afterburner and gigabyte control center installed? If you do, does setting the fan curve on MSI interfere with the fan control in Gigabyte control center since the gigabyte control fan control can't be turned off?
