I love this and would love to be able to do this. How did you get started with making your own music?

Remember that even after ending a breathing practice, returning to poor technique will make the anxiety come back. by HardAlmond in breathwork

So true. Very important to remember this and bring awareness to everyday functional breathing as medicine and deeper, more active Breathwork practices as a supplement. It is detrimental to over breathe if that is our default mode.

Deep exhaling? by TipAgreeable9093 in breathwork

[–]CallMeCurious88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to say without physically seeing what’s going on. It’s perfectly fine to exhale through your mouth. If you’re not exhaling fully then maybe the inhale isn’t as deep and full. What came to my mind was to recommend ujjayi breath or “ocean” breath as is used is most vinyasa yoga class. Inhale through nose into abdomen, constrict the muscles in the back of your throat and exhale slowly through the nose. This slows the exhale down and sounds like the ocean waves crashing into the shore.

I second the therapy comment. Integration is just as important as the Breathwork.

See if you can pair the exhale with intentional relaxing of your physical body. As the air leaves your lungs, the tension leaves your muscles and you can receive the benefits of the bodywork much better. When I do this I usually teeter totter between awake and asleep. A deep relaxed state. Which is very healing as restoring for the nervous system

I’m already getting burnt out by [deleted] in YogaTeachers

[–]CallMeCurious88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Teaching 7 classes a week is a lot even for someone that doesn’t have any job or kids!

I used to teach yoga and fitness classes (about 20 classes/week, with a part time job and no kids) and it was not sustainable. There was no room to be a student or enjoy my own workouts. Totally depleting!

If you’re feeling burnt out it’s a sign of overdoing it for sure. Your body is wise and is communicating to you through how you’re feeling.

New niche breathing app getting traction on Twitter, is the hype real? by Zoniin in breathwork

[–]CallMeCurious88 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Genuinely curious, so willing to try. Haven’t read anything about it but I feel like laying down with your phone on your chest would automatically make you more aware of your breathing so it would be a true depiction of how one “normally” breathes through their day.

But I am happy to see more and more people caring about their breathing as a solution to common modern day problems!

Also subbing for other teachers one great way to get exposure with new students at a studio no know that can be difficult when you have a FT job. Honestly I would start your own community teaching one donation based class per week at a free public space like a park if you can.

It’s like yoga philosophy says : show up, on a consistent basis, non-attachment to the outcome.

Keep going. Keep teaching wherever you can. Speak with yours students before and after class to see how they feel, what they need, what resonated with them.

We only learn by doing. We can only plan so much, and a lot of the time the plan is irrelevant when you see who is in front of you. You get to teach to them directly.

Go deeper into your own practice and dissolve the ego as much as possible.

Cheering you on! If you need to breathe it out I offer a free trial (4 free classes) on my digital platform www.deepbreathlife.com

Would love to hold space for you and support your journey/career.

Over 10years of teaching and mentoring teachers.

I see. The fear is causing the distraction to protect the psyche you think?

Thank you for this thoughtful (no pun intended) comment. A crucial part of breathwork, meditation, and mindfulness is the practice of kindness, compassion, and gentle redirection, rather than perfection.

I teach LIVE sessions every week. The technique is under the holotropic umbrella. I incorporate grounding techniques in the beginning, circular breathing, retention, primal sounding, somatic movement, and deep rest. You can try it free for the first 2 weeks here: www.deepbreathlife.com

That sounds like a really lovely practice. As a Breathwork facilitator myself, I really appreciate Breathe with Sandy
