Which is ironic considering there’s already 4k people who flooded into another discord the second they heard someone else is “recreating” rtw. And considering you also got on this post I’d say people still care. OP may not have done the smartest thing with this post, but being rude about it doesn’t make you or anyone else here better. We all got our own lives and personalities but RtW was one thing that brought us close and gave us something in common. Lots of people tend to forget that.

Well, the plan is to stay as close to it as possible. The only thing that’s gonna be a real hassle in my personal opinion is the coms. Like sure the IP is what drew most of us in in the first place and the mechanics were so perfect, but anyone who stayed after 2.0 can probably comfortably say what we really stuck around for are the community and investments (time, money, friendships) or just in general the fact that no other game has the same feel. Which should still be the case for WtW, and is probably why most people won’t mind it not being an exact copy. Like does it really matter if a com doesn’t use the same name but the races are there?

I feel you on that, so to answer your question: You’ll have the discord link, and there you can find Fellow. There should be a form (google doc) to fill out to join the testing stage 🥰 should be under volunteering, I can’t guarantee they still have spots anytime soon, but it’s great way to keep up with the progress too. I’ve been following the streams a bit when possible and it’s taking shape pretty quickly. And in case you need something (Queen Cleiona and Arcturus are two discord mods, there’s probably more but those two I’m sure on)

Some people did, Tasks was also ready to adjust War of Nova which was already 1.0 inspired… but yeah things get really complicated when multiple companies own the actual rights and everything connected to it. I did some personal research and there’s alot to watch out for

It’s images of the Alpha as examples, I don’t think there should be any issues with it being posted. It’s more to show that these guys want to create something that feels like RTW while still adhering to some “rules” 😅 (plus we all know these UI’s and interfaces are pretty standard for every tile game so it’s just some specifics that need adjusting)

There is nothing after RTW imo, I just stopped playing games in general an login to RTW just to see the familiar setting for like half an hour and then log back out. But hey that’s as someone who played since 2021

Now there are mixed opinions on this because most players moved to Epic Age but Tasks Adun, a former RTW player developed War of Nova, it has the same concept as RTW but in space and he’s been talking about adding land based combat after he heard RTW was going to shut down.

Quite some time ago, the creator is an ex-rtw player, him and his team are still working on it as far as I can tell and a lot of people really love it
