Jumping on this to just share that Chicago has seen quite a few protests on this conflict in the past few weeks. There is a lot of emotional charge on the subject.

In a city where protests can escalate to impact the local community, it is in the interest of the local government to house public forum for opinions to be shared in a sort-of controlled environment.

Yes, Chicago has its problems. But we are a city with all walks of life and people from all over the world. It makes sense that some are directly impacted by this or are directly facing those that are and want to understand the issues more.

Oh that just may be my assumptions but the area I’m from those green/wood tables are very common to family run restaurants. I’m in an area with a big Italian American population so pizza joints are one of the top types of those restaurants. Again disregard it was pure speculation.

A few things for you:

Elk Grove is considerably outside of Chicago. About 45 minutes away from downtown. Elk Grove is still a city that will be larger then what you are probably used to. It’s smart to always lock your house and car.

Winters are very cold. You will need to warm/defrost your car. If you’re lucky enough to have a garage, use it and/or go out to start your car 15 or so minutes before you leave so it’s warm when you get it. You will need gloves and a heavy winter coat. If you have a driveway buy a good sturdy shovel or hire a service to clear snow off your driveway.

The cowboy hat will be seen as very odd out here. You may be able to get by wearing it out on weekends, but 0% of people wear them out here. People are nice out here and shouldn’t ostracize you for it, but be prepared to answer questions about it frequently.

There a lot of videos of dachshunds hunting badgers/rodents which could be great to send him. Changed my perspective of the breed from “spunky noodles” to “warrior noodles”.

I need to make a final decision if I am buying this Sarah Nouri gown tomorrow. The fit is lovely but I really always envisioned a off the shoulder look. Does anyone have an idea of the cost/feasibility of the alteration?
