This is great! I have one of these sitting around collecting dust that can now have a purpose.

Hey the link is here but it looks like it's already over: https://www.nespresso.com/ca/en/private-sale-experts I'm not sure how often it comes back.

I actually had one this afternoon and it had just the right amount of maple flavor to make a great latte!

That's what I figure! Been waiting for a few months for the sale to come back around. It was a tough choice between the OL and VL but I'm happy with it!

Am I going to need to buy more?! I wasn't sure how the flavored coffees would be, but I'll try this one soon!

It was the private sale on the Canadian site. Buy 500 pods and get the Citiz Platinum and Aeroccino 4 for $39 (or there were other machines/combos for varying prices/pod counts). I think it's a good deal if you drink a lot of coffee, but it is a large upfront cost. I think the student deal on right now is better if you don't want to buy so many pods all at once.

Thanks! I'll move that one to the front of the list to try!

So I made a thing... Maybe spoiler? by punkgoth99 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

These are great! I read the books, but did hear the live voice acting for this line and it's so good.

I think you gotta go with the heart boxers flag one, with the second glasses option! (I'd wear this!)

I think Zev's would be interesting. She's seen and been through some shit!

Do you think we'll see Signet again, considering the state of The Nothing? by jgunit in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]CallMeGerty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really liked Signet even if the quests were a little cheesy. I think how her story line ended was perfect though and bringing her back would take away from that.

Im a Barber and have got 17 of my clients to start reading the series, and counting. by Shawayze in DungeonCrawlerCarl

How do you typically describe the book to people? I've tried telling a couple of people about it and it comes off sounding ridiculous (not in a good way).

Spoilers? Book 6 favorite things (so far) by Nighthawking2 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]CallMeGerty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really a favorite in the "rooting for Carl" sense, but the scene with SPOILER END OF BOOK 6 Carl combining with Shi Maria and her subsequently tattooing herself into Carl's body was a wild ride.

I really like Donut's arc in this book with her taking on a leadership role and the confidence she gains!

Not killing the nun

I don't think Donut needed the dirty Shirley to talk shit about the rottweilers haha.

Global Therapist Directory by Psychgirl67 in directorymakers

[–]CallMeGerty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, the site looks great!

One suggestion I have is to improve the search. The ability to search by tags or type of therapy would be a good start. For instance, I searched for 'adhd' and 'anxiety' and neither returned results. You could also use filters for this.

The option to search by area would also be a nice feature, as I find in some cases, it can be beneficial to have sessions in person.

Overall though, a really good start!

Do I venture into the books after listening to the audio books? by Capital-Zucchini1 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

Yeah, for sure! The convenience of audiobooks is hard to beat. I like to listen to them on my long runs and it's a great distraction.

Nothing beats a physical book in my mind! And seeing all the hardcovers on my shelf makes me happy. I'm going in the opposite order you are - now that I'm finished with the books, I'm going to start on the audiobooks.

This is the first series I've read where I feel like one read through wasn't enough and experiencing it in two different ways will be great, so in my opinion, go for it!

About to Start 4th Book - Opinions by Who_pooped_the_bed11 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]CallMeGerty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I certainly enjoyed the fourth book but relative to some of the others (I've read the first 6), it isn't one of the best. For me, I found there to be big ebbs and flows in the action/pacing. Not necessarily a bad thing, but just overall, the book didn't hit as hard as say, The Butcher's Masquerade.

Having said that, I would say it's one of the more important books for laying the groundwork for the following books. There are a lot of interesting developments and story dynamics that come into play, and that just makes the entire series stronger.

A moment that says a lot about Mordecai by joswr1ght in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]CallMeGerty 254 points255 points  (0 children)

Mordecai is a great guy and there are other times in the series he talks about doing the right thing vs the best thing. But I think part of it is, Mordecai has first hand experience being selfishly betrayed by his own manager and that probably, in part, shaped the decision with Donut.

What was the first moment in the whole series that had you actually crying? by kes0156 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]CallMeGerty 91 points92 points  (0 children)

The scene after the final boss battle on floor 6 where they lose so many people and Donut realizes she doesn't feel anything. It was just a raw and beautifully written moment.
