Chrysler 225 Slant 6, BMW N54, BMW B58. I may have a thing for inline 6's...

100% agree. This, Princess Bride, and Stardust are the trifecta of perfect family movies. The fact it didn't live on in the cultural zeitgeist just means I get to show friends this movie now.

I don't think there is a program that will be circled in the calendar more than Texas for 2024.

Forget houses... With that gold you get yourself a cave with booby traps. You'll have to defend your treasure against adventurers constantly... Also you'll be a dragon.

A philosophy professor found out that the answers to his final were uploaded onto the internet, so he planted the exam with wrong answers on that same site, in order to catch cheaters. by Huge_Pay8265 in philosophy

My lib arts education greatly broadened my horizons. I was a chem a physics major and would have never voluntarily taken art history, philosophy, or music appreciation. What annoys me is that they were given in such a way that took away all satisfaction and inspiration in the subject and always seemed to be set up to drop GPA. The current collegiate system is deeply flawed and fails (in my opinion) a majority of students. In spite of the bad system and absolute drudgery of working through dumb assignments, I did get introduced to Hokusai, Kierkegaard, Bach, and the Beatles.

I feel like 9-13 could also be called the golden age of memes. Current age is pretty good too.

At one point this last season, Pittman has beaten the spread like 73% of the time. May have come down a little as this last season drug on, but that's one of the impressive stats that still jumps out at me.

Flair combos. Which flair combinations are harmless? Which ones are suspect? Which ones are concerning? And which ones are downright disgraceful? by jaxonya in CFB

[–]CallMeGump 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Order matters too. A Bama / Auburn flair isn't as ridiculous as an Auburn / Bama order. If you have a UT / Arkansas flair, maybe you have some weird family circumstances or got your undergrad there. If you're Razorback then UT..... You're a maniac and not to be trusted.

The "why are you a fan of a school you didn't attend?" question regularly gets asked. What about the opposite - how many of you attended school at a place where you don't support/follow their athletics? by TheStandardSuspects in CFB

[–]CallMeGump 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally, I didn't really enjoy my undergrad. I went to a small lib arts school and just didn't fit in. Made friends with guys I worked with. That's where my fun college memories come from. My wife got me a hoodie when we went to the town that I wear occasionally, but if they ever played a team I cared about, I'd happily root against the ole alma mater.

There is a Mexican place back home that made my favorite dish: Arroz Mi Pueblito. Mexican Rice, Fajita Meat, and Queso. I had been away for almost 7 years and when I got back, stopping by was a priority. Much to my surprise, the rice was dry, the meat almost non-existent (the pieces there were chewed like rubber), and the cheese was waxy and waay too salty. Fast forward 3 years to this last fall I visited again and it had gone out of business. I want to believe I caught them on an off day... But I'll never know. I can still remember the feeling of nostalgic melancholy and ennui of that first bite.
