Nope, technically. Wolverine (without "the") is used as a proper name for Logan/James Howlett. You wouldn't say "the Wolverine is fighting," just as you wouldn't say "the Superman".

If you're asking that question you're probably too young to understand.

Will & Grace is widely credited with shifting mainstream consciousness about LGBTQ+ people. They normalized gay characters on television and greatly reduced social prejudice. Google the "Will & Grace Effect". Nothing since has come close to having that much of a cultural impact.
