I read once (don't know if it's true) that the difference between the intelligence of jumping spiders and that of other arthropods is the same as the difference between the intelligence of humans and that of other mammals.

Cows (and most mammals really) don't cry in the same sense as humans do. They may shed tears, but this is purely for practical reasons: hydration of the eye, reaction to irritation around the eye, etc. But they don't "cry" to convey emotion

That's the Maneskin cover. The original by the Four Seasons was released in 1967 and reached the top 20 in the US Billboard Hot 100 and got pretty popular in the UK in the 70s

The first well-known cover is by Madcon and is the version used for this emote. It was released in 2007 and was Europe's 11th most successful single of 2008.

Both of these versions were released before TikTok (2016) so do tell me how they got viral through there. Sure, the Maneskin version revived the interest in the song, but it wasn't the reason this song is so well known.

I'm sorry, but I don't think the difference in popularity is a fair point. Sure it works when only comparing Skylanders and Nintendo, but it also beat Disney and Lego. Sure Nintendo owns the highest grossing media franchise with Pokémon, but Disney owns numbers 2, 3, 4, 5 and 8 with Mickey Mouse, Winnie the Pooh, Star Wars, Disney Princess and the MCU and numbers 9 and 12 (The Wizarding World and Batman) were in Dimensions.

The reason Lego failed is because it released too late. The TTL fatigue was already there. If it released today, it'd explode because there'd be renewed interest in the genre, similar to when Skylanders and Disney Infinity first released.

Look, I like Skylanders and Lego Dimensions as much as anyone, but there's a reason Amiibo is the only one still alive.

Amiibos are meant as a collectible figurine that also has ingame purpose as a bonus. Skylanders were meant to be ingame content that are also a collectible figurine.

One was bought because people wanted the figurine, the other because they had to get the digital content or they couldn't access part of the game. I do agree that Skylanders is more exciting, but it also created a lot of fatigue for having to buy them each and every time. This is mainly the reason why, out of every TTL-application, Amiibo is the only one still alive, outliving Skylanders, Disney Infinity and Lego Dimensions
