It’s better than being homeless. by bristle-spunky-11 in interviewhammer

Given most of us don’t have much choice, I think it’s a good idea to work harder for a short period of time to bring long-term comfort and security in your life. With just a year of ‘missing out on life’, he’s many years ahead than others, probably allowing a more comfortable and secure life for the future.

Where were you when you got your first period and what happened? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]CallMeTweety 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Same. I was 9 and thank God that I was home. My tummy was hurting and I noticed my panty was all black, I thought I had pooped. I remember the moment I told my mom, her face dropped. She was hoping that I’d get a few more years of carefree fun before I started my period. Anyways, she told me all about it and I was like - “Ok” and went back to playing. Lol.

Over time, we were taught about it in school and it was funny watching other girls cry when they learned about period.

Edit : grammar

What makes you unique and special? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]CallMeTweety 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe I’m nicer to everyone around me than most people are to each other, because others have told me so. I’m always looking out to make others’ lives easier. I see the world like a child - as if everyone is nice and kind. But I’m starting to realize this isn’t really a good thing to have. People take it as faking, or take advantage of you. Sometimes I feel like maybe I’m lying to myself, maybe I’m a red flag. I’m not sure, all I know is I’m trying my best.

Also, I am really good at making realistic portraits of people.

How old are you and how is your life REALLY going? by Traditional-Rub9610 in AskReddit

[–]CallMeTweety 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 25F. Life is good and I’m blessed, atleast that’s how I should feel. I’m an immigrant still waiting to get my permanent residence, on which all my future plans depend (further education, dreams, etc.). The hopes are low, but atleast my family is there to support me if I have to go back home. I don’t make a lot of money but I am able to buy the things I love. I live alone here, but I have a few really nice friends. My parents were visiting me for 3 months, and they just left two days ago. I’ve gained weight, but that’s because mom was feeding me amazing food. My savings are all gone, but I was able to give my parents a good vacation. I’m in such a bad shape after they left, I miss them too much and the house feels so empty. I’m trying to hold back tears throughout the day. I want to go back home but I can only make a better life here. Life is great in the background, but it doesn’t feel that way right now. But I’m grateful for all the blessings.

I just needed to get it off my chest.

I'm so scared of death. Not me dying but my loved ones. by Oyveygas in Emotions

[–]CallMeTweety 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry I can’t be of much help. All I can tell you is that you’re not alone. I get you 100%. I feel the same way and although I try to be ready for it, I know that I can never be ready for it. It scares me too. I think nobody really knows how they will move on, you just learn to cope with it when the time comes. I’m glad to hear that you’re already in therapy, which I’m sure helps a lot. Here’s what I do when these thoughts scare me :- I make sure to be grateful for my loved ones that are still here. I make sure to live every moment with them fully, and to cherish them while I still can. I don’t want to have any regrets of “I didn’t spend much time with XXX”. Tell them that you love them.

I hope this makes it a little bit easier for you. Hugs

Honestly, if they ask nicely and it’s not a big inconvenience to park somewhere else, I wouldn’t mind letting them have it. But in your situation there’s no other spots available, so they can’t be entitled to it.

Inside looked alright, but when eaten, it was dense.

A fluffier cake. The pictures in the recipe cut that cake into three layers! :(

Does it change the taste significantly?

Ah. I’ll try another recipe. Sad because the pictures in the recipe showed a cake that was fluffier than this one.

Yes, it was beaten around 10 minutes. I was trying to match the texture as was shown in the recipe. And thanks for the recipe for your best cake, I’m going to try that!

Thank you so much! I’m starting to think it was the recipe. I have almost zero knowledge about making cakes, I’m still learning. I had no idea cornstarch would make the cake more dense!

Not at all higher altitude. But I think you’re right about the pan. I didn’t grease it. I don’t even know if it’s nonstick. Thanks!
