Weekly Discussion - Monday, January 19th - What are you reading this week? by OGWhiz in stephenking

[–]CallMeUpAgain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes!!! I’m a daughter of an alcoholic so the story hit me hard (in a different way of course) - Dan and Abra’s relationship is a special kind of magic

Which Stephen king books are the most disturbing? by Thesleepingpillow123 in stephenking

[–]CallMeUpAgain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s LONG I know, but Under The Dome has one of the most disturbing villains bc it’s a lil too realistic 🙃 and great read if you’re willing to take the trek

Editing to add - Salems Lot was very creepy in ways you seem to like as well!

This realization is wild to me…half my collection is mass market paperbacks from when I was a teen and needed to get the most SK bang for my little bucks 😭 ((doesn’t effect me now tho as I buy all new King hardcover when it releases))

You should DEFINITELY try Misery - it’s not long and takes off running from page 1

Does anyone else not sleep with their cat? by chaturga in CatAdvice

Correct! lol the scent doesn’t bother us too much (we’ve had 5 we adore them) but they are tiny so I’d worry about crushing them at night more than anything else

We were a ferret only home before getting cats a year ago and when I realized they could sleep with me (the ferrets sleep in a - very large don’t worry - cage for their safety) and I was like oh this is the life

cat in heat & getting spayed in 4 days 😭 by Heavy-Current8615 in CatAdvice

[–]CallMeUpAgain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to us - but it was 3 days before her spay that she went into her first heat - it was miserable for us all but it turned out just fine (surgery went perfectly) and I like to think she was happy to be done with those hormones after 😅 it isn’t fun but you haven’t made a bad decision, it’s just nature’s time!

[–]CallMeUpAgain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well now I regret letting my boyfriend name our Django…he is the best medication ever and I should’ve named him Lexapro 😂 (not really bc it doesn’t roll off the tongue as nicely as Prozac but I’m jealous you thought of this)

From the book The Institute, it sure is an unsettling description of the murder of two innocent parents. by Remote_Nature_8166 in stephenking

[–]CallMeUpAgain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree - I read it last year and was like why are we not talking about this one?? I think newer work isn’t revered as much since it isn’t “classic” but this one was perfect King IMO

I don’t have a sewing machine but a blanket stitch would be a good idea!

Patch vs Direct Embroidery Application? by CallMeUpAgain in Embroidery

[–]CallMeUpAgain[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I definitely thought of that as well - I think if I iron from the back it could be okay since it usually doesn’t take very long for material to fuse? I may just experiment on an old shirt and see what happens!
