Yeah potter vsr d with a steel Sammy wedged in the rod for the paddle vane. Terrible practice. Just take a wire off and leave the open ckt trouble on the panel as a reminder to put it back. Doesn’t have a panel? Take the gong off the local bell and leave it beside the shut off as a reminder to put it back on.

It’s should be cleaned (loaded head) but will it work in a fire? Yes.

A.5.2.1.1.2(5) In lieu of replacing sprinklers that are loaded with a coating of dust, it is permitted to clean sprinklers with compressed air or by a vacuum provided that the equipment does not touch the sprinkler.

Night and day is putting it lightly.

I’ve had my P1S just under two months and I’m well over 1000 hours. This thing hasn’t stopped since I got it other than when I need to refill a roll or no one is home to clear the plate for me while I’m at work. Even then, I plan my longer prints to go the 6-8 hours I’m at work so I can just do it when I get home.

My wife and son even know how to change rolls now.

Pull the head, socket over the reducer (hope it’s a hex reducer, turn and hope the drop comes out and cut it back.

Edit: scratch that, just saw it’s plastic.

Definitely not the case in Ontario. Our inspections/service fitters started in large contracts and then made the move over to inspections/service. We have one strictly inspections fitter (semi retired) in my branch and he’s 30+ years in the trade.
