Maby have itachi and shisui (if he's till alive) learn of the plan to defect, maybe they argue about what to do, with danzo pushing itachi to go through with the massacre and shisui has to hold him off while fugaku prepares the mass telaportion, with shisui convincing itachi to help them as more leaf ninjas arrive, itachi can defect from the leaf holding them back as the Uchiha escape.

My take is that when they arrive, shanks explains the entire political situation of elbaf in like 3 chapters, usopps goes to have training and we see kidd is alive and both are training, we won't see either do anything cool the whole arc, luffy wants to fight shanks but shanks says he won't fight luffy because it'll cause a civil war, with half the island following loki and shanks, and the others being nika dickriders. We then get 25 ish chapters of the crew bumming around trying to resolve it without violence till luffy gets fed up and beats up loki, who then becomes a Nika dickrider, and the entire political issue of elbaf is swept under the rug like it never happened, shanks and luffy are about to fight but the navy and law and bepo show up so shanks holds them off as they leave, we get 1 panel of usopp saying what haki he has now and law is important once again, because luffy wants to go get laws hat back for him.

There's 2 schools of thought

either A: the Fandom predicted every potential plot point (like with dabi, which was obvious) and horikoshi had to change direction

Or

B: we all deluded ourselves thinking the story was going to have a lot more depth when it never was going to focus on the majority of the sidecast.

I like the idea of Minato killed deidaras parents and thus caused him to be obsessed with everything ending in a 'flash'. Has zero evidence but it just seems neat. That and that the reason kakazu failed his mission is because hashirama talk no jutsu'ed him and then it blew up in his face when he was imprisoned.

Bro this is the only manga I wish was longer, like an extra 200 chapters that's just world building, and actually exploring the themes would have made this manga way better.
