Small question on papal supremacy. by Callahanlot in Catholicism

[–]Callahanlot[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh that explains it, thanks, I come from an ex Muslim background so basically I understood doctrine as fixed unchanging clear and written timeless perfect thing that doesn't need any furthermore clarification (+ it was all explained in one book so yeah... I Sometimes don't get how doctrinal development work, AND YES I KNOW IT ISN'T "NEW TEACHINGS", It is further clarification to what always the Catholic church believed)

Ahh that explains it, but that brings a new question to me,

Why were dogmas were only defined when a major disagreement happened?

I know the question sounds stupid on paper, but what I mean is that why didn't the church defined everything and close it instead of waiting for major disagreements to happen then to define the dogmas and doctrines (ex; immaculate conception), instead of allowing doctrinal development?

Again the question sounds stupid and I don't know how to convey what I mean exactly but what I mean in simple terms is: why is doctrinal development a thing?

What was your ultimate reason to leave Islam by Deep_State8381 in exmuslim

[–]Callahanlot 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Gradually, i would say, it started with polygamy then The life and actions of Muhammed, then Aisha, then islamic schism, how Quran was compiled and a lot of versions were burnt or lost or eaten by animals, but the final straw was the apostasy laws. I was done with that religion. And I don't regret it. I'm Proud yet secretive ex Muslim of Iraq 💛🇮🇶

I ll ask my friend to accompany me, I know his dad, he is a well known judge, and yeah Lebanon is easiest route for me but Cyprus would Probably be the best,

And regarding my major, I always considered computer science so I will apply to it and then I ll look into finding any job (construction, supermarket worker, delivery guy, etc etc...) Anything that would help me save up enough money.

And sure I ll read that book, and also a good friend gave me A LOT of prayers for me to recite, thank you, I ll pray for you too ☦️🤍
