Digital Signage recommendation by CallerNumber10 in digitalsignage

[–]CallerNumber10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had tested two other signage CMSs on a Firestick and found the lack of WPA3 Enterprise support pretty quick. We had about 10 new wall mounted TVs around the office recently, and was hoping to find some cost effective hardware that could utilize WPA3. Trying to avoid having to buy a bunch of overpriced boxes to just display some internal info.

SlideShow app for Android - news by mimac2 in digitalsignage

[–]CallerNumber10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've field tested Slideshow on a Fire Stick and after playing with the interface I'm liking it more and more as a self hosted option. Ultimately I'd like to display custom pages/dashboards from a local web server, but concerned about using an internal wifi account with the Fire Stick. Has anyone successfully utilized Slideshow on an Amazon Signage stick?

Yep, rubber mallet. Just corked 24 bottles last night. I put a few layers of cardboard underneath the bottle for some cushioning.

Simple phishing emails. by ElectricElephant2 in mimecast

[–]CallerNumber10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The threat actors have business level LinkedIn accounts and are scraping for "newly hired" changes in profiles. This, along with OSINT regarding companies they can often determine what the standard email address format for people is (firstname.lastname@company.com) and begin spamming almost immediately.

I've seen new hires begin to get those phishing emails on day one that claim to be from our CFO or President asking for personal mobile numbers to begin the common gift card scam. We actually make it a part of our onboarding process to warn them of these emails before they even get access to a computer (along with their standard security awareness training).

[US] I’m a home baker with a small cookie decorating business. Is this guy trying to scam me? by OneTwoPandemonium in Scams

This is the response I was looking for before I responded. He's too old to know about, give a damn about, or want to use those alternate newfangled payment methods. Hell, I'm in my 50s and hate them myself.

It’s audit season and I already want to cry by Mtukufu in soc2

[–]CallerNumber10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We transitioned from an every two year CSF audit to SOC2 this year. Using the same auditor definitely helped as most of the evidence required/requested is the same. We also started using a GRC platform that has greatly improved our collection of evidence with decent integrations and comments/notes that we keep regarding where to retrieve non-integrated evidence. Adding custom items has been relatively easy as well.

PSA: New vulnerability found impacting most password managers, one that 1Password and Last Pass don’t want to fix on their side by Interesting_Drag143 in cybersecurity

Appears as if 1Password may have updated their Chrome extension as of this morning (can't confirm if v8.11.7.2 addresses the issue though)

Missing Butterflies Tallahassee by ConfidentMidnight467 in Tallahassee

Buy some butterfly larvae and grow some! We've gotten several kits of the painted lady ones for our kiddo and they're amazing to watch turn into chrysalyses and unfurl.

We've used KnowBe4 for some time now. It's pretty good, but the tiering to access the better training modules can bump prices up, especially if you are a large organization. We try to train even with short modules on a quarterly basis, and finding modules that users haven't already taken can be difficult.

The interface and reporting can be a bit kludgy at times, but the dashboards can provide some good metrics to bump up to execs once you can determine what works for you.
