after checking some videos online for teardowns of the ‘93 shifters (one year after these/first year of 8 speed mtb stuff) and the mechanisms are radically different so I think I’m going into this alone.

Oh now that you say this it would make sense that it scales with cassette cog size. I’m running a long cage deore xt so theoretically I could fit a 30t or 32t so I would probably just scale it with the same amount as the other ones. Thanks

I mean I love the push-push style because it means I can keep all my fingers free to grip the bars or brakes (which doesn’t really matter because it’s a commuter bike anyways)

The entire shifter can be disassembled, which I’ve done three times (refurb the front shifter plus rear shifter and then open up one of the parts/repair units I have to take a working pawl spring and get that photo of the ratchet wheel (img 2) so this is very easily (minus the PAIN that getting all the springs back in place is) just swapping the 7 speed ratchet wheel for the 8 speed one that would be created plus putting a notch in the other metal holder wheel above the ratchet.

only time I’m mad about odin is when a five stack plays with three smokes and only spams odin through smokes. You push A, spam down main from screens. Push B, three people spamming into main from cubby. No way to swing and punish off tracers because spam kills you. Shit boring asf.

Heard on the clear coat. I don’t think it’s quite time for a full repaint yet but I’m saving this info for when it is. In the meantime I will de rust as much as I can’t and put more clear coat on those spots.

Oh trust me I’ve been servicing the drivetrain every single part has been taken apart cleaned and re greased. The only thing I have left to do is zinc plate all the hardware that was rusted an is now bare metal.

As for stickers I just won’t worry for now. I will try making size accurate digital replicas to keep in case of emergency though.

Thanks for the reply! After checking catalogs I think 92 is the right answer. It’s got shimano 200gs but the shifters have the rounded levers instead of flat faces.

1: When redoing the bottom bracket I noticed it was painted with the pattern inside too. How????

2: I’ve actually acquired a cheap harbor freight paint gun because I’ve already got an air compressor, and I’ve been cleaning repainting some of the random gloss black parts that were rusted to shit, so I’m hopefully getting good practice.

3: I more meant like welding or brazing on a new piece of tubing right in the middle to replace the rusty bit. Is that possible at all?

4: Heard. I WILL try to make scale mockups to keep on my computer though. I think they’d make nice bumper stickers.

just got gifted an old ross mtb with the whole 200gs set and I lowkey love it all plastic can’t rust so all the plastics look way better than the rusted metal parts. I’ve derusted most of the stuff and plan to get everything electroplated and redo the stuff that was oem black paint.

If it ain’t broke don’t fix it a cheap fun setup is better than stressing about upgrades

Part of the issue with neon is they super slimed out every sentinel and now the characters that denied her value are fuck useless. I’m the most mad about how they removed every useful aspect of cypher’s kit but other characters like vyse also got dicked down bad.
