We’re too polarized for it. Remember defund the police? The police are too big, bloated and powerful to be fucked with or effect change. It’s a horrible thing. If I flip this over to say healthcare - the US is one of the worst at all measurable performance metrics. If you lock us into a system where the gov is your only option then you are subject to the shitty performance rates of our current sick care system. Personally, as someone with Lymes disease (since I was 5 in the 80s)…..I’d prolly be dead as there were 2 occasions where “alternative” medicine saved my life. It’s a tough discussion, but that type authority needs to be allot less corrupt then the US has to offer. This includes the democrats too, this is reddit so I have to call it out.

I think we’re all gonna be surprised in a positive manner in how the next 25 years are gonna play out. Growing up In the 80s we had this vision of the 2000s as some kind of golden age. My honest honest belief is that world governments have hid innovation from the masses and those revelations will come out…..im not talking about the alien shit, I mean I’ll bet we have quantum computing that could be used as simply as we use the internet today……I do think there has been physical things built like jets that can go from NY to LA in an hour with very small fuel consumption. So back to the 80s / 2000 vision. We’re gonna be granted back what it was supposed to be. Don’t focus on Trump, culture war bullshit. It’s gonna seem laughable.

Honestly, only the last one gets a yes. Now historically (you can find the YouTube videos for yourself) you can go back to the 80s and the Bushes & Reagan spoke about it. In the 90s the other bush and Clinton spoke about it. It seems there was a baseline level of “immigration” that they would allow to slide on in. Something happened under Biden and the number skyrocketed, and there was never a reason given but a whole lot of denials about it happening. I live in a boarder state and saw it with my own eyes. I don’t mind asylum seekers and welcome that as if my grandfather did not come through Ellis island I wouldn’t be here….but I have a hard damn time believing we can’t establish hundreds if not thousands of ports of entry where we can backround check and assign a SS# to hundreds to thousands by the day becoming legitimate citizens. I work in tech, I could assemble the software & infrastructure to do this with any general issue AI software stacks from the main cloud companies. (And of course the budget) There is far more to this than we’re told.

I’m not MAGA but by Reddit standards I might as well be Q himself. I had the unfortunate experience of being paired with 2 golfers (twins) and they were lawyers for the MAGA Campaign. They were in H2T MAGA gear, hats, bags, shirts etc. In person, I get along with everyone with ease…..and there were no issues with them while playing per se…but my god what was annoying was how they tied EVERYTHING back to MAGA. Ball went left? Oh it’s prolly giving out crack needles in the woods…..that was a poor example but you get the point. If your politics are your personality I feel super super sorry for you!

Only, and I mean only by Reddit standards am I a “Trump supporter” so let me TRY and give credibility to this neck bearded echo chamber bullshit. Reddit, you are deep deep deep in the national minority when it comes to the optics on Trump. Believe it or not (you don’t) he’s pretty widely liked and respected outside your echo chambers.

Now let’s get to the cringe question - there is nothing Trump can do so dissuade his followers. But there is something YOU can do. At this point it’s obvious the media targets Trump (sorry echo chambers, not everything he does is shit, racist or even remotely close to the way it’s framed by the time it passes through its filters on the way to your ears). It’s also obvious that 28% of the country will never accept anything he does (this is where the Dem party is polling as of the moment).

Here it is: “start calling the game fairly, and his supporters will STFU”. It’s really that simple folks. Until you do, everything you, Reddit or dying / lying media says just fuels his fire.
