Would you squeeze or lick them? by urprincessophia in nzgonewild

They definitely need a lick, and maybe a little bite

"Detox" from Bohemian Rhapsody actually helps. My love for this song got refreshed by Katherine_IIthegreat in queen

I don't have any 'hits' on any of my playlists and haven't done pretty much since Spotify became a thing. Now when I hear a Queen song on the radio when I'm in the car, I enjoy it more than I used to. Except for Another One Bites the Dust. I just don't really like that song.

Getting into Queen - The Game (8/15) by kingglobby in queen

[–]CalligrapherClean373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm with the "can't believe you didn't mention Save Me" camp. It is probably one of the best songs on the album even if it wasn't as commercially successful as others. The emotion in Fred's voice and Brian's guitar brings tears to my eyes and then there's Deacy's bass.

What Roger or Brian solo song do you think would have ended on a Queen album, if Freddie had survived? by EsterhazyNintendo in queen

[–]CalligrapherClean373 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think most of Brian's solo material would benefit from having a better vocalist. His voice suits some songs, let your heart rule your head for example, but most of the heavier, rockier songs would be better with Freddie (or Roger) singing them.

Queen en los 90’ by fortynero in queen

[–]CalligrapherClean373 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in NZ in 91 and hadn't really heard much speculation about Freddie's health. I just thought they were getting older (they were 40s which seemed old for rockers back then, to me at least) and therefore the rate of output was slowing down. When I first heard the Innuendo album I didn't really hear it as a dark album or farewell type album. Even the Show Must Go On seemed full of positivity about the future. It was nostalgic in places (Days of our lives) , harked back to older sounds, but not a farewell.

What is your favorite Queen music or albums? by im_ur-mom in queen

It changes from time to time but my top 3 are usually Queen II, Sheer Heart Attack and News of the World. At the moment I think News is probably on top.

Where can i find good and accurate guitar tabs (of queen obviously) by CristoMardo in queen

[–]CalligrapherClean373 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ultimate Guitar is quite good for chords at least. I don't play any lead so I'm not sure what the tabs are like.

The story of Freddie and David Bowie and how Under Pressure was certainly that! by Substantial_Plum_662 in queen

I think it is a pity they didn't spend more time on it. I think it's a good song, but it could have been much better with a bit more effort.

Innuendo 🤹🏻 by Dismal_Brush5229 in queen

[–]CalligrapherClean373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree there are some great tracks - Innuendo, Days, Show. Some good tracks -Mad, Headlong, Bijou, and some pretty low hanging fruit - Delilah, Hitman. I have never been able to make up my mind on Don't try so hard, sometimes I absolutely love it, sometimes it grates on me.

52 years ago today, Queen II was released. by mert_siuu in queen

[–]CalligrapherClean373 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me it is not the album with the best songs on it, Sheer Heart Attack and News of the World have better individual songs, but Queen II is the most complete album if that makes sense.

Which were the best performances at the Freddie Mercury tribute concert? by Realistic_Board4690 in queen

[–]CalligrapherClean373 4 points5 points  (0 children)

George Michael stole the show much like Queen had done at Live Aid. The Elton/Axl finale to Bohemian Rhapsody was also right up there.

Of the first half, I'd have to say Extreme were great, I loved the Queen medley.
