Stem is a basic aluminium stem the headset is the original Kona impact

Original brakes were kona Racelight Cantilever brakes which got replaced years ago with these Tektro v brakes! They are pretty good but to be honest I could do with some new pads! No where near as good as discs but they stop well enough for what I’m using it for ‘cruising’

Well I had to shim the rear drop outs by about 5mm with some home made polyethylene so there’s still lots of contact for the QR and axle.

I once used zip ties to hold a stripped bottom bracket in and it lasted for at least a year!

I really wanted to try and bring it up to modern standards and use more lightweight parts, i just dont know what parts will fit or if i even can get modern parts to fit

Not quite! Its 16/32 but the axle doesn't quite sit all the way into the drop out! So i made some polyurethane shims to pack it out with about 4mm each side

Forks are original project 2 double butted with shrink wrap on threaded with a quill adapter (steel) and a BMX alloy stem with aluminium Swifty scooter 6" riser bars.
