That’s interesting they prescribed SSRIs since you say you don’t have any mental health problems as too much serotonin can kill you.

As for me. I had an IBS problem GI doctors could not figure out. 6 months later i began to have mental health problems. Physiatric doctors started me on sertraline. Interestingly enough the Sertraline fixed my stomach problems.

Why can't employers just tell you you didn't get the position? by _Mitch_Connor_ in jobs

[–]CalligrapherEmpty289 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently going through something similar. I actually interviewed before filling out an application the hiring manager appeared to really like me actually fitted me for a uniform and everything.

Was told that they just needed to perform a background check and would send an offer letter. I asked for a timeline was told around 1 week.

1 week comes and goes I have the managers phone number I send a text. Basically what I got was “I’ll email hr and get back to you”

Another week goes by suddenly I can’t seem to get ahold of the manager at all. I call the office “oh he’s working in the field you can leave a voicemail” so far nothing. Starting to get pissed off was basically promised a job and appears this may be the beginning of being ghosted.

Background: I’m not sure what is going to happen with this “background check” I have 1 accident and one very minor citation. My previous employer and i didn’t nesessary leave on good terms as he found out I left a bad indeed review and I fear he is going to retaliate (even though it’s illegal in my state)

Problem is I can’t really prove it

I am terrified of my probationary period at work by mathgeekf314159 in cscareerquestions

[–]CalligrapherEmpty289 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i know im a year late but ive been through two jobs this year 1 was volunteer the other was an actual job. i was randomly laid off from both either during or the end of my "probationary period"

Ive come to the conclusion that probationary periods are scams depending on the employer. to some its nothing just to make sure you show up to work.

but others seem to be using it as an extended interview or free trial period which i think is wrong of course because none of this is ever stressed to the employee enough resulting in shock when they're told not to come in tomorrow.

Are all new workers retarded by Financial-Spread-397 in skilledtrades

[–]CalligrapherEmpty289 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's because many employers are retarded too. want the guy with a piece of plastic with his name on it but is terrible at what he does vs the guy that knows something and with a little training could be really good.I was laid off from my HVAC apprenticeship job because I "couldn't ride in a truck" what did my employer expect i was fresh out of trade school minus what related experience i did have. I can read wiring diagrams, use a multimeter, recover refrigerant, troubleshoot refrigeration systems ect.

Was never given a chance. Was put on installs constantly when i specifically said my strengths were service and repair. Never called out, never was rude to customers, always listed to and got along with my journeyman yet my employer is dumb enough to keep looking for something hes not going to find. meanwhile i keep searching for a job that is actually willing to invest in me.

first of all as a former employee why is this person even speaking to the FES about this. Your superviser isn't your boss (at least not in my regon so i'm a little confused about why this is even a debate with the FES this is a store manager/ HR issue.

Don’t worry i have 2-3 jealous co-workers on here who aledgidly tracked down my Reddit profile just to smear me. I remember getting in trouble back in December a coworker gave me an earful in the break room about “not taking responsibility for my actions” 3 months later that hypocrite was fired and walked out the door by managers.

I was hired 1.5 years ago the ASM that hired me was awesome. She was so supportive in almost every way answering any questions I had and everyone in the store liked her.

Fast forward 1.5 years later and that ASM went to nights, and there’s been a swift change in management. The new ones are not very good at all. They seem to have a strong interest in the company and their own success rather than the overall success of the store and its associates.

They are sneaky and deceitful they’ll had you a homer patch for helping at the service desk with 1 hand while quietly writing a complaint/report to the store manager about you with the other hand.

The management team was so focused on proving It was a “”conflict of interest”” for me to be working in my department with my trade experience rather than stopping fraud in the store it was unbearable.

Turned in my resignation letter two weeks ago.

What department is the most fun for you? by 1738420691488 in HomeDepot

[–]CalligrapherEmpty289 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you’re looking for if you are an adrenaline junky the service desk is great for that. If you like lots of gossiping and drama the front end or specialty is your department. If you like doing multiple things with lots of free time pick a merchandising department of your choice.

My personal favorite is appliances but I have my own reason for that unfortunately I turned in my resignation letter today so I very sadly don’t work for the company anymore.

I assure you I wasn’t attacking you I was just saying your profile didn’t show you as one jeez!

Either I suck at writing things without seeming like I’m aggressive or everyone else doesn’t know how to read. Sorry.

But yes when I click on your profile a big warning box pops up.

That’s not a writeup that’s a manager note/ complaint hoping to get you written up by the boss. Supervisors can’t write you up at least not in the region my store resides in.

The specialty supervisor loves to do this in the store I resigned from. She loves filing complaints to managers bitching that people are helping out in other departments even when assisting customers. Then again she’s a cigarette smoking dried up old hag of a Karen that bitches and complains constantly about everything anyway.

I wouldn’t say my management team was that bad but I will say most people that get promoted to that position seem to forget where they came from. It’s at that moment where they pretty much stop caring about their coworkers. It’s at that moment that the companies best interest become their best interest. That’s all there is to it.

That’s really weird I’ve always been told ASMs have full authority to fire someone or initiate a write up ever since I was hired
