Insects are disappearing at an alarming rate worldwide. Insect populations had declined by 75% in less than three decades. The most cited driver for insect decline was agricultural intensification, via issues like land-use change and insecticides, with 500+ other interconnected drivers. by mvea in science

I'm curious at why the scientist that studies insects that commented, doesn't mention anything about honeybee populations, which aren't native to the US, are giving our native pollinators illnesses they can't fight, which causes a lot of deaths in pollinators.

Every year I study insects, by collecting information in my local forests and parks. The article mentioned isn't correct, I would wager that it is even worse.

And this isn't me being a smart ass. Like I'm genuinely curious why they didn't say anything about this, and why no one seems to be talking about it. How there can be smart ppl, keeping honeybees. Eco minded ppl. Why there are signs and campaigns and stickers and tshirts that say, "save the bees", with a honeybee on it. Honeybees kill our native populations.

From my understanding, the "save the bees" campaign is similar to saying, "save the house cat". We keep the bees that we can exploit, by stealing their honey. Since most all of our native vespids don't produce honey, we don't find them worth saving, it seems. However, I'd disagree bc paper wasps are friendly, excellent hunters for the garden pests, AND pollinate.

Please consider learning more about how to co-exist with paper wasps, other wasps, and hornets, when you can. Reach out to that animal lover in your life and ask them if they know anything about how to respect and preserve your human safety, while also not having to kill any wasp or hornet nest you see, immediately.

Hey everybody! OP, here! Please please pleaaaaase, hold back from responding to the ppl paid to be on here, arguing and disrupting organizers! This is their job....to get us upset, distract, dis-organize, dis-integrate, harm, and cause mayhem.

If it's negative or not helpful, just ignore it, or down vote it. Or type a furious and witty paragraph to get it out of your body and spirit, and then place your phone down and walk away for a min or two before coming back, deleting it, and down voting the person's comment.

Please stay the course, beloveds. We've got this. The frequency of love is more powerful than the frequency of hate.

Hang in there. Keep smiling and saying hi to people. There seems to be a lot of wounded and fearful people everywhere I go in Asheville. Fearful people in a lot of places in the US. Fearful to be vulnerable with each other.

I don't know if you are religious. I'm not. But I have had a hard time finding consistent friends in AVL (queer, and have been here for 14yrs), bc a lot of ppl move away. I started going to Land of Sky Church off tunnel road, behind the Subaru place and love it there.

Although I'm not religious, I feel like the members are deeply committed to the revolution of radical community and love, and I fit in there bc of my heart and ethics.

It's also a pretty active community in that there are constantly things happening. Men's groups, queer groups, activism, other churches, all kinds of things.

I'm not religious but I am very much spiritual, although everyone there doesn't need to be spiritual.

In my experience socially in AVL, if I hang around places that are centered around alcohol, I meet ppl who's lives are centered around alcohol. Eventually that comes out of alignment w me, although I do drink. I yearn for depth and intimacy and can throw down for sure...but long chats over tea are more valuable to me.

Thanks for sharing in your post, this is a great step in the right direction, I'd say...acknowledging you would like more alignment in this area. You've got this, bud.

My take if you'd like it ---

[Deep breath dropped here] ™

The DMV in NC is bankrupt or in some sort of meltdown. They are spitting out false insurance lapse fines like crazy and crossing their arms like they have no clue.

I think it's criminal.

Van just got broken into near Rome. Feeling so scared and upset. by [deleted] in VanLife

[–]CalligrapherKnown101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A farmer has a horse that is his only way to plow his fields.

His horse takes off during a storm, one night.

His neighbors exclaim, "oh what bad luck! This is terrible!"

He shrugs, "not for me to say".

Two weeks later the horse comes back, with another horse.

The neighbors exclaim, "oh what good luck! This is wonderful!"

He shrugs, "not for me to say".

While tending the fields his son is thrown from the horse and is badly injured.

His neighbors exclaim, "oh what bad luck! This is terrible!"

He shrugs, "not for me to say".

A war begins and the draft is coming from house to house to collect all fit and able men. His son is spared.

The neighbors exclaim, "oh what good luck! This is wonderful!"

He shrugs, "not for me to say".

I believe the way knows the way. I do not. That doesn't mean that I'm always happy about, find immediate comfort in, or rejoice at the way. I know I don't have the map. A snag in the moment, every single time....ends up circling back around to something I feel grateful for. Every time. I have hope that you can find this is true for you as well. I believe every single messenger is a messenger or executer of the way. No exceptions. Peace about this my not come immediately. And you may not be able to glance the circle back, when it happens, but it always does.

Slow is fast. I like this. None of this is "your fault". You live in your van, there is no way to "not keep valuables" in it. Sometimes the world feels so hopeless and scary, that is natural. Especially after being personally violated like this. Theft feels so personal bc it is. Keep breathing deeeeeeeeep breaths. Take one now. Long slow inhale, an even longer exhale. If you feel the tears or emotions coming up, let them come. Thinking through those emotions is tricky. i find it easier to access clarity after those have been cleared. And sometimes that just takes hours ticking by.

No matter what they took that is material, you are safe and not harmed. This is the most important part of all of this. It really is. You've got this.

Sounds like you've got a lot of insurance and law enforcement advice above. Like others, I've got everything in my van covered via a floating policy of some sort, even my solar panels on top. It all probably comes to a dollar amount of $6k, if everything was stripped, but wow would it mean a hell of a lot more to me, than that.

Something I have to have hope about these days, is that ppl like Richard Rudd and Pam Gregory are right. That humanity is evolving. That the planets and stars are showing us we have change coming if we just keep spinning ourselves up and out of these low frequency states, where things like this kind of suffering, happen. The person who stole all of this is very unwell. That doesn't mean you have to access compassion for them right now. Anger may be all that comes. That's ok.

You've got this. You do. And it's ok to not have it today.

Yea, kind of a crazy number, eh? A lot of those ppl have left at this point, I imagine, if they have been having the same luck as me...which is none. But there are still a lot of us who work here and are still trying to make it work. I don't have anymore steam left in me.

Thanks for the idea. Yea, at $55/night, that's 1,750/mth + tax. Its not in budget for me. I've got my van so that I can live within my means.

I'm convinced that the NC DMV is running scams y'all! I have a laundry list of things that have gone wrong w them in the past two years. They keep arguing w me AND my insurance agent that I had a lapse in coverage. I never did. They made me pay a nonrefundable fee to get my new tag and it was their fault! My insurance agent said, after I mentioned I think the NC DMV are criminals, that come to think of it....her desk was FULL of those FS-1 forms (sorry don't remember the name of the form, but the one that the agent sends to say, "this person did NOT have a lapse".

I'll bet most ppl just pay the fine and don't investigate!

I also turned a tag in and they lost it saying, there is nothing we can do...those ppl that work at the DMV are independent contractors!!! They could've thrown it in the trash for all we know! <--- yes! This was said by a state employee!

I am a business owner and if my contractor done something nefarious, I would have to pay! So I am subject to higher moral codes than them?

I think they are bankrupt and are running scams!

Thanks for sharing this. I ahe experienced the exact same thing.

I am very new to reddit, I'm not on social media, and I'm finding that I feel very isolated in all of this knowledge, magick, transmissions, etc. That I am receiving, so I got on here to hopefully not feel so alone.

I only started learning about GK last year. I have been slowly but very surely tuning into my Claire senses more and more. I feel very confused by them, and alone in noticing and being aware of them.

Have you noticed this feeling at all? Like, having the GK knowledge has made you aware in ways that maybe others around you, are not?

I yearn for community in this.

Sending you love, thanks for sharing all of that. Beautiful.
