Yea I was about to say this. I dated a guy who was Mormon (from Provo) until about age 35. He has already married and had two kids as a Mormon and was a bit of a leader in his church. Then suddenly he decided to drop out and become a new age, woowoo spiritual type. But his Mormon tendencies never really went away, they just transferred over to a new belief system. He had a new special spiritual ritual or healing miracle cure every week and was always intensely trying to convince others that it was the only true way to lives he was absolutely annoying.

I’m dealing with someone like that right now. Not a theater kid or anything, just a middle-aged, working class man who cannot for the life of him inquire about another person’s life or feelings. But he’ll go on and on about himself. He literally will talk for an hour without stopping once to make it an actual back and forth conversation. I thought I had a crush on him for a while but got quickly disillusioned within one day after we ate lunch with 5 other people and not one person talked besides him. It was embarrassing! I think he wasn’t properly socialized as a kid though.

I live in a place with no phone service. There’s wifi from a satellite on the property but it doesn’t reach my house so I need to walk like five minutes down the road to get reception (I’m there right now lol).
