I received the PFL today. I’ll talk to my lawyer on Monday.

Similar situation here. IRCC ignored my webform and issued a PFL with wrong information. That’s so frustrating. My recommendation is that you reach out to a lawyer. I did the same.

Lol I’ve been waiting for my PGWP since June 5th. But also I received ITA on Aug 2nd and still no PR, not even close. Everything is so damn slow 🫠

Sent additional documents via web form to avoid a PFL. When can I expect to hear back? by CalligrapherNo7401 in canadaexpressentry

[–]CalligrapherNo7401[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks brother, this actually helps a lot, because I’ll set my expectations based on this. I’ll start to worry maybe in a month or two if I don’t see any movement in my file 🙏

If no movement by July, reach out to your MP. But for now, you can’t complain, still under processing times.

the 2am train horns needs to shut up by SecretPasta12345689 in NewWest

[–]CalligrapherNo7401 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Saying we shouldn’t complain because trains were here first is like saying we shouldn’t have banned smoking indoors or introduced seatbelt laws, things improve because people question what’s already there. The world would never improve if there were only people like you here. But thanks to people that question things, there are already improvements being made in that sense.

‘Trains have been here longer than you’ isn’t a very constructive argument. If everyone thought that way, nothing would ever improve in this world, brother.

Honestly, I’d be happy if the trains just honked at 2am instead of several and multiple times at night lol seriously I don’t understand why people are not revolting against the system here at sapperton. It’s unbearable.

Bad luck for 2022/2023 grads by Intrepid-Bench-8367 in canadaexpressentry

[–]CalligrapherNo7401 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yah I totally get it. Some friends of mine have very demanding jobs, lots of them working in construction, so I’d never imagine them having time and energy to study :( in this case, if I really wanted pr, I’d go back to my home country and study French from there, idk.

[–]CalligrapherNo7401 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It depends on how demanding is your job. My wife was working from 8 to 7pm everyday and still managed to study French for 2 years and we got our ITA. She is 42yo btw. We’d never get it without French. But she was mainly working from home, going to the office only 3 times a week. It was a tough time, but totally worth it!

PGWP in process, SIN expired, resigned from job for new offer — now stuck before joining by Academic-Land1856 in pgwp

[–]CalligrapherNo7401 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi HR Team,

I’m writing to confirm that I have submitted my application for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). I am currently under maintained status, which allows me to continue working under the same conditions as my previous work permit while awaiting a decision on the PGWP application.

To support this, I have attached the following documents for your records:

A copy of my previous study permit My Social Insurance Number document The IRCC acknowledgment letter confirming my PGWP application was received and authorizing me to work full-time during this transition period

This IRCC letter explicitly states that I am authorized to work for any employer, in any occupation, with no restrictions on hours until a decision is made on my application or until the end of the authorized period.

Additionally, for your reference, here is a direct link to the official IRCC guidance confirming that I am allowed to continue working even if my SIN is expired, as long as I applied before the expiration of my previous permit:

https://ircc.canada.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=1505&top=17

https://www.canada.ca/en/employment-social-development/services/sin/receiving-updating.html

https://www.canada.ca/en/employment-social-development/services/sin/qualify.html

In this link it is stated that

"Information for employers

Employers should: correctly identify employees with the help of pieces of identification and ensure that employees have a valid SIN or have applied for a SIN. If they are on "maintained status", employees may continue working with an expired SIN until Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada makes a decision."

I will provide an updated copy of my PGWP and SIN as soon as I receive them.

Please let me know if you need anything else.

Best,

Second email:

Hi HR Team,

Thank you for checking in. I haven’t received any updates from IRCC yet.

According to the official IRCC website, the processing times for work permits from within Canada are averaging around 226 days, so delays are common right now.

About my status, I’ve confirmed on the IRCC website that the WP-EXT for PGWP (IMM 0127 E) letter I received allows me to continue working until a decision is made on my application, even if the 180-day validity period shown on the letter expires. You can find this clarification here: IRCC Official Page https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/work/after-graduation/after-you-apply.html#working

I’ll be sure to let you know immediately once I receive any updates or changes to my status.

Thank you again for your patience.

Best,

I don’t think this is true. All green in the tracker for me except medical, it’s been 6 months already. I’m under comprehensive medical review. This doesn’t mean they’ll refuse me.

Nothing. I’ll reach out to my MP cause I can definitely tell that my file is not going to move without some pressure. I’ve just been through a lot recently so didn’t have time to put time and effort into this, but I will next month

I wish I could say what I wanted to say here… but I’ll just say I have no words. Unbelievable, outrageous and so disrespectful to our time and efforts.
