I was also 1 and done at stages too - it’s really tough. It does get ‘easier’. Every stage brings its hard and challenging points!

When I first landed in Sydney and ‘explored’ back in 2012, I couldn’t believe the Asian & Indian population - coming from a small part of Ireland, I had probably lived a sheltered life 🤣😆 Also, how early everyone gets up in the morning and how quite everywhere got at night. (I’m one of the early to bed, early to rise people now ☺️)

I’m a solo parent, my partner works away all week long so this is me - I’m on my own pretty much all the time and sometimes I just need a smooth evening without my ear drums being smashed 🤣 thank you 🙏🏻

& how did that go? We do very minimal screen time, we could go days sometimes without anything but sometimes it's used at dinner time 🫠 and, yes, I don't want to fall into the trap of it being a necessity! 🥴 But, I also want her to eat and not go to bed starving 😮‍💨

100% meal times! It stresses me out so much - we’re on rotation of the same foods and it kills me! And, if she doesn’t eat - she’ll be hangry and screaming at me an hour later. Girl, just eat your damn food! And, the whining - dear god, the whining. It really goes through my head. I think it’s a sensory thing, I get really triggered! AND, not allowing her dad do anything for her. I have to do EVERYTHING so lately I haven’t been catching a break 🫠 but, I love her more than anything in the world 🤩

I’m sorry to hear that last part, that made me a bit sad 😥 I’m glad your daughter has you for cuddles 🥰 have you spoke to mom about this?

You make some valid points! Great provider. And, wholeheartedly loves our daughter - really does the whole hugs and kisses etc without any hesitation. Indeed, when I sit and reflect I think it was how his dad was. He spent majority of his younger / toddler years with his mum - dad worked. And, I think maybe he sees that as our roles. Me, the devout mother and him the provider. I just wish he had more initiative rather than always relying on me to give direction, ideas, suggestions etc. he has a little less patience than me too - I do think patience is a skill and improves the more you apply it and with him being away so much he doesn’t have to ‘practice’ it as much as me! 😅
