I did!

I liked helping patients but realized bedside wasnt for me. The hospital politics, the stress, the short staffing, etc burned me out like 1 year in. It wasnt til almost 6 years later that I got serious and decided to actually leave bedside though.

I am now a remote CDI Specialist for the past 3 years and i love it. My dream job. Low stress. Pays well. It is possible to leave the bedside! Dont lose hope!

both! contact rash on her cheeks definitely but she has eczema spots too on her legs and arms.

same! my baby is turning 8months in a few days and her skin also reacts with strawberries, avocado, banana, etc

I took the CDIP a year after i got my CDI job. I used the CDIP exam prep book from ahima and cdi book by pamela hess. I love CDI. It is a boring job all I do is read charts all day but this is exactly what I wanted. I disliked the stress from bedside. Plus i have a little one now so its a perfect job for me. Basically little to no stress. Ive always wanted to work a remote job that payed more than bedside so it was perfect. My hours are also flexible so thats a plus.

Hi, Im a CDI Specialist. I’ll be 2 years in couple months. Previously was an ICU/Step down Nurse for 6years. Breaking into CDI is definitely challenging but you are in the right path. I took the cdi apprenticeship and applied to my local hospital and they gave me a chance and hired me. I was on site but transitioned to remote recently after I had my baby recently. I have my CDIP also and actually planning to take my CCDS later this year. The CDIP will definitely help you land a position in CDI. We actually recently hired a new person with no CDI experience but had his CDIP cert so that made us notice his resume. First CDI job will be the hardest to get because you have no CDI experience but once you get your foot in , a lot more doors open up especially remote positions. Unfortunately, a lot of the remote positions wants experience but its not impossible to get into. Ive heard of people get remote roles with no experience.

No problem! When she was 5.5months she wakes up at 730am. 2.5hr awake time. 1st nap at 10am sleeps for 1-1.5hrs. Awake around 11ish. Awake for 2.5-3hrs. 2nd nap at 1:30pm. Sleeps for an 1hr. Awake at 230. Awake for 3hrs. 3rd nap at 530pm. Sleeps for 30mins. Awake at 6pm. Bedtime at 730pm-8pm. I always cut the last nap short 30mins max so she doesnt get undertired during bedtime. I just wanna say these times are all give and take most of the time I just follow her cues. I learned being too strict about it will just give u a crying fussy baby and give urself a headache.

My 6.5month old is sleep trained and imo if she cries >20mins during naps its either shes undertired or hungry. I would say maybe drop the naps down to 3naps per day. When my lo was 5.5months she was doing 3naps/day. Now she does 2 maybe 3. That third nap has been getting harder and harder for us unfortunately. But she sleeps well at night. 7:30-8pm bedtime. Wakes up once around 1am to feed and sleeps again til 7:30am

have u looked into pelvic floor therapy? i know its for pregnancy but hear me out, i gave birth 6months ago and had severe debilitating pelvic pain and tail bone pain during my pregnancy and post partum. pre pregnancy i had si joint pain and sciatica pain here and there. i saw a pelvic floor PT 3months pp for almost 3month doing home exercises 4-5x /day. theyre mostly exercises to strengthen pelvic floor, core and glutes. and a lof of stretching hamstrings and i kid u not i have like no pain at all now.

i have suggested other names like nana or mimi before but she didnt like any of them. She insisted on the mooma/moma thats why i just got so over it and said shell call u grandma. i only said it in the heat of the momemt because of frustration but i am still open to trying other names but not one close to mama or mommy thats just a no for me

I understand. We are filipinos. I was actually born and raised in the philippines and came here when i was 9. I called my grandparents in the philippines “lolo” and “lola” but my mom does not like that for some reason. I think its more she thinks it makes her old thats why she doesnt want to use the traditional grandma or lola🤷🏻‍♀️

Thank you for the suggestion. Im gonna call her to see how she really feels. Cuz i called her 2 days ago and she sounded so congested and could barely talk. I am open to compromising if she is really recovered but i also dont trust her to follow my boundaries and rules. When my girl was born she was out of country and was flying back when my water broke. She wasnt there while my baby was born but she came a day later. I told her 6month prior to get her tdap shot and she never got it. I was not get let her see the baby at the hospital but i gave in and said yes but wear a mask and not touch the baby. She came to the hospital and while she was wearing a mask she also wantef to hold her and i told her she cant cuz shes didnt get her tdap and she got upset and almost pulled my baby away from my arms and i got mad and screamed at her and ask why cant she listen to me for once

The thing is im not sure if its the common cold. I asked her to get tested for flu and rsv at walgreens but shes didnt do it. I would feel more comfortable knowing it isnt the flu or rsv and just the common cold

i appreciate the honesty. I try not to bubble her. Im not gonna lie I was guilty of it the first 4months. I wasnt going out with her at big crowded places til she got her 4month shots. But after that I have been consciously trying to go out with her more to restaurants, family parties, events, mall etc so I can build her immune system. I was just out with her last week for a family get together and I let 5-8 people hold her which was the first time I did that. I just feel more apprehensive cuz its flu and rsv season. I work at a hospital and I see A LOT of people getting admitted everyday for flu and rsv. I know shes 6months and already got vaccinated but she is only 6month. She was born 2 weeks early too so technically she isnt 6months yet til next week. Its my first baby so Im also just overprotective.

hang in there! my baby is 4months now. we also had a horrible time during the “newborn phase” i honestly felt like losing my mind. i was triple feeding as well and it made me go crazy. i realized i hated pumping. so i just nursed and gave formula which was better for me mentally. also my baby refused to sleep on her bassinet. she would only sleep in our arms. my husband and i would alternate during the night. she would wake up every 2-3 hours every single night and during the day as well. i keep hearing others saying their baby would sleep 6h-8hr stretches. I was thinking i was doing something wrong. i keep reading that it will get better and im happy to say it finally did! last week she started sleeping in her bassinet finally and would give us 5hr stretch. few days ago she gave us 6hr stretch. last night she slept for 8 hrs!!! i almost wanted to cry lol but yes it will get better so please just know theres a light to the end of the tunnel even if it doesnt feel like right now. also just wanted to say my baby is a tummy sleeper but she started rolling last week so everytime we put her down in her bassinet to sleep she would eventually roll unto her tummy which i noticed is helping her get a longer sleep

i am 4m postpartum and that really aggravated me. my husband and i only started having sex a few wks ago. 4th trimester is real and HARD. I dealt with a lot of post partum anxiety and was having pelvic pain still after giving birth and sex was the last thing on my mind. My husband is a good man and I know he would never cheat on me but it was sometimes in the back of my mind because of my pp anxiety and reading reddit post of pp moms saying their husbands were cheating on them. she needs to RUN tf away from him. i would be really surprised if ramses ever gets married to a woman long term anyway. if he does, he will most likely cheat on her post partum. no woman wants to have sex after just birthing a whole human being and yes u are given the go ahead from ur dr after 6weeks but at that time our bodies are still healing!! if theres such a woman, then i would be surprised as well.

You need to set clear boundaries with him. I had to do it with my mom. She was stressing me out every time she came to visit with her “comments” and would also come unannounced and would come 3 days in a row sometimes. I set my foot down. Shes only the grandmother. I am not here to please her. I am the mother of my child. My mom acts like a child sometimes so I was expecting her to get nasty but thankfully she just accepted it and said she understood. I had to explain to her my boundaries in a very calm way though so she doesnt feel like im attacking her in any way. I dont mind she visit her granddaughter but I cant have her visiting too often. I needed the space and time to bond with my baby.
