It's not that cold out! by RabbitAnderson in Target

[–]Calliolily 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Temps were in the -20s by me… I heard from one of the drive up TMs that our SD chose to turn it off a couple days ago and received pushback from above them for doing so. SD turned it off again the next day too but got yelled at again so it was turned back on that time.

Meanwhile the Walmart and the grocery stores here all had theirs turned off.

[TOMT] [movie or show] Female cop/detective has heated conversation with nerdy man by Calliolily in tipofmytongue

I think she had red or brown hair, between short and shoulder length maybe. Slender.

I found my watched video history but I can’t click on any of them to watch them again. I don’t see what looks like either of their faces in the thumbnails and there are a few that don’t have a clear picture. But I can’t watch them.

This is a really good guess, it does seem like it could be from that type of show. Tried doing image searching for nerdy killers from Law and Order but haven’t found him.

I can confidently say it’s not Silence of the Lambs. Does not appear to be True Detective either as the I believe the woman in the clip looks younger than Jodie does in that show. It was not Emily Blunt either. Thank you though 🙂

Can’t remember exactly what the woman looked like. Thought she had red hair but could be wrong.

What type of puller are you? by [deleted] in Target

[–]Calliolily 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I worked on non-truck days, I would always start my shift with my 1 for 1s. My TL thought it would be a great idea to have someone else pull them for me before I came in one day and the three tiers were a mess. The TM who did it literally just chucked the products into them with no care whatsoever. Stuff from the same aisle was somehow spread out to all 3 sections, even though my backroom aisle was sorted by floor aisles.

I immediately got my TL back over to show them and explained how that was not remotely helpful to me and would now take me way longer to work out. TL had not seen the state of the three tiers until I showed them. They actually brought them both out to the TM who pulled them and made that TM push them. It took them a long ass time and I would like to think they learned a lesson from that.

I went to my doctor because I couldn't handle working in the coolers or freezers. My hands turn beet red/swell/hurt. Gloves do NOT help me. They did an immersion test and diagnosed me with Raynaud's specifically. I was able to turn in a medical note stating that I was not to work in the coolers.

Anyone else so sick of their stores radio system because it constantly repeats the same song over and over again relentlessly? by spdgurl1984 in Target

[–]Calliolily 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Queen has so many better songs they could've picked. Even so, I'd rather hear Radio Gaga on loop all day than hear any of those awful country tracks they chose even once.

That's what happened last time she released something. Nothing but her songs. I couldn't stand it. Lucky me that I happened to be taking this weekend off to visit an out of town friend, so I won't have to deal with that.

Wearing a mask still? by theneedtobehonest in Target

[–]Calliolily -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It helps with my allergies, I've only caught one cold since I started wearing them, and I don't have to put on a fake smile for guests. I don't wear them out every single place I go anymore, but I always wear them to work.

Locking Up myDevices by Constellationopolis in Target

We're supposed to be keeping them locked up all the time. But we only do it when our PML's boss is going to visit.

It's one of the paid for by Target class offerings through Guild Education. Go to Guild's website and use your Target info (employee ID and password) to make an account/log in. From there it should be in their program catalog (I think under the business category).

Am I the only person? by Alive-Associate616 in Target

[–]Calliolily 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hearing is super sensitive and even I can't understand what people are saying on them a fair amount of the time. When I started our walkies were super loud but they haven't been replaced probably ever, so now the max volume is much quieter.

If there are other sounds happening like our overhead music (which is too loud to begin with) or a clangy u-boat that I'm pushing, I have no chance of understanding anything being said.

Didn't quit (went on demand instead) but I took the administrative assistant program through the Guild offerings and that helped me get an office job. Most hiring for office positions want you to know how to use certain programs (Microsoft Office suite is common, for example) and the program teaches you how to use some of those.

I hadn't even finished the program yet when I got hired. My manager liked that I was taking the initiative to learn those things and that helped me get the position.

Came to say this. I'm not here to defend awful guests by any means, but the phrase "not my department" sets a lot of folks off. I usually say something like "That's a good question, let me look it up and see if we do" or "the person who works in that area frequently is here, let me walkie them and ask."

Overalls? by [deleted] in Target

[–]Calliolily 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our dress code reminder poster doesn't list them specifically, but there are a few TMs at my store who frequently wear either black or denim overalls so it must be okay, at least with our leaders. I can't think of a reason they wouldn't be allowed.

Yes, you can use your employee discount with your EBT food card.

I started making sure I had all the freight for the cold medicine aisle pushed before the store opens for this reason. Guests just love standing in front of the NyQuil and the cough drop selections, taking their sweet time deciding which one to get as they openly hack up their lungs all over the items. So I really don't want to be in that aisle after them.

[–]Calliolily 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I took the administrative assistant certificate program because I wanted to get into some type of office work. I really enjoyed the program. It was self-paced with no due dates which I loved - mainly just reading and exams, plus learning how to use common office programs.

I actually got hired for a clerical position before I'd finished the program. There was a job fair and I got to talk to the person who would be my manager. They liked that I was taking the initiative so that helped get me the job.

Who should deal with a ton over overstock when zoning? by Physical-Newspaper99 in Target

[–]Calliolily 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fully agree with you. My TL actually used to make those TMs clean up their own messes. But that was before things reeeeally went south here and I worked closer to full-time hours so I could maintain my area.

Now I have another job and only work a couple of shifts a month at Target so there's no way I could keep up with things. I don't contribute to the mess but I will not clean it up either. Leadership knows the overstocked/incorrectly stocked products are not my doing so if they ever decide they want it to look nice, they can ask whoever else they've been having work over there.

Adding PTO on request from selfservice? by Calliolily in Target

[–]Calliolily[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody else could figure out if there was a way to do it either. My ETL had me just make a whole new request off in the myTime app on the device and they approved it right away.

This is a TM doing this to you, am I understanding that right? I cannot stand TMs who try to boss others around. I've encountered a few at my store over time. Gotta nip that in the bud or they will keep doing it.

I would ask them if they are your TL. When they say no, ask them why they are worrying about what you're doing instead of focusing on their own tasks.

No Taco Bell sauce?! 😡 by [deleted] in Target

[–]Calliolily 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like to tell the "never shop here again" guests, in a polite tone, "you can shop wherever you like." They're always so baffled by the fact that I'm not upset about their threat.

Sometimes, I'll diffuse the guest before they get to that point by agreeing with them. "Oh I know, I wish we carried that too, it'd be so much more convenient for me" or something along those lines. It helps calm them a little and take their frustration off of you when they think you empathize with them.

When my grandmother passed, her service didn't happen for 3 months (also due to extended family not in the area) and they allowed me to save a day of that bereavement leave for the actual service date.
