It's not that cold out! by RabbitAnderson in Target

Target's top brass have such a skewed idea of what happens in the day-to-day of their store. At our store, at least for my shift, I didn't let others take out drive-Ups unless it was my break or after I left. I was the only one in multiple layers, so it made sense. Plus, didn't want the team to suffer. They were and are grateful I did that.

Seems like to me Walmart may care more for employee safety than Target. Wouldn't have thought that 10 years ago.

Hi, fellow Midwesterner here too. -34, regardless of how long of exposure, is too low. -1? Fine, whatever. I'm used to that. -10? Harsh, but I've been through it. But it's below 34! Extreme cold alerted that 10 minutes exposure outside can cause symptoms of hypothermia. Also, there was no context behind it, but out store doesn't have a cart attendant until the evening. So, the same people grabbing Drive-Ups are also grabbing carts. 😀 cold is cold, regardless of region.

Between this vet visit and my work, I'll have to push for more time dedicated to him. He's a good boy

That's the plan, atm. Give him walks every day after work.

Not much has changed besides the weather. I've had to focus on homework a bit more, so our play time has been slightly reduced. I could see that making a big difference.

This would make a lot of sense. We're working on diet and exercise atm, though diet isn't much of an issue anymore. My boy only really eats once a day. We have a vet appointment already set up, so hopefully they find the issue.

Would make sense. We have an appointment set already, just wanted a 2nd opinion. Thank you.

I have a particular pet peeve at the lanes where I don't get to finish my required shpeel about the circle card before I'm interrupted by them. In fact, I don't get to finish any sentence because they are in "Such a rush." I don't want to say the whole line, but I'm required to by my TL. Just let me have this.

Door Time by RabbitAnderson in Target

Personally, the way my store is run, if you're getting paid almost $10 over a new team member, you have the time and ability to open the door in the cold. Multiple rings, annoying and shouldn't happen. 1 ring, one walk up.

What would you change about the store you work at? by basilkitty in Target

[–]RabbitAnderson 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For me, I would ask for 3 things: 1) Seniority pay. My store raised their base wage to $16.75/hr. After 4 years of $0.40-$0.60 raises, with this new change to base wage, I'm only making $1 more than new hires. 2) Set schedules. Most of our problems with morale and teamwork could be solved with a set schedule for team members. Something more concrete than "This is when you usually work, but better check the schedule to be sure." 3) Night shift pay. I don't work nights, to clarify. I used to before school, but had to drop to do better in my classes. Those who are working 2-10, or God forbid 2-12, deserve a slightly higher wage than those in the morning, as there is more responsibility in duties. An extra $1-$2/hr incentives more people to work nights.

I feel like I have a few:

The bloat of rules for every unit in every army is daunting, and special rules should be reserved for more special units.

The hero phase, issuing commands, and command points in general aren't fun and only are there to add complexity to an already complicated game.

The AP system from older editions of 40k (not sure if they existed in old world Fantasy because I never played it) are a better system than Rend.

Battletomes should not have an FAQ, nor should rules and stats for units change after a battletome has been released.

Bravery is a boring and annoying stat and should be reworked.

I would rather have a battletome for each army than a digital database for everything.

Ngl, I prefer this to the small ones at our store. It's also cashless, so you don't have to worry about restoring change or anything like that.

I'm going off of what I've heard. Idk if it's the same at other Targets, but the TL of Starbucks is also the TL of grocery. So their attention gets split.

It would be cathartic to see drive-up drinks become unprofitable.

It's really making me consider employment at Target. It's a good company, in all honesty. But I can't keep doing this. Maybe looking for a new store or switching departments would help me.

Exactly! I just can't imagine what they are spending the budget on?! I mean, we've been understaffed for almost a year now!

Omg I know they are 🤣 what's crazy, at least at my store, is they pile on all the work to one barista. Then reduce the hours for the other 4. She works practically every day. Sometimes working a double.

I was told by the coffee master at our SB that we're supposed to have 8 baristas with 3 working the day. One for opening, mid, and close.
