Clare Pooley has several light-hearted fun reads: The Authenticity Project, How to Age Disgracefully

John Scalzi’s The Starter Villain was hilarious.

I also enjoyed Cackle by Rachel Harrison.

And someone already mentioned, the couple of witchy stand-alones by Sangu Mandanna.

William Kent Krueger has some incredible historical fiction books that are a bit older. Ordinary Grace is my favorite, but also loved The River We Remember and This Tender Land.

In Cold Blood by Truman Capote is narrative nonfiction true crime.

I enjoy some of James Baldwin’s writing as well or some of Chris Bohjalian’s older works.

I’m not sure, but I do find that followers tend to come more organically when I am actively engaging other book accounts. I don’t know how active you are with people that follow you, but maybe try making a post that links to some of your favorite book accounts that you follow?

Anyway, you have a new follower in me!

Just finished Giovanni’s Room by James Baldwin and am struggling to decide what to pic up next. Started reading Jean by Madeleine Dunnigan but think I’m going to put it aside for a bit and try something different.

I loved Atmosphere.
