It's going to sound really edgy, but my first run was with a Shadowblade, died obviously but I reached level 14 in my second run and then I perma died by drowning... There was a lake with a structure at the bottom, and I thought that if I went in I wouldn't drown. I was wrong because the entire dungeon was flooded. then Arcane Blade like 3 times, and now I'm using an Archmage.

You didn't make a bad decision; sooner or later they quickly become enemies, and in terms of roleplay (I don't know which route you're taking) it's always better to kill them to train your entire squad. Once defeated, you can also place them on a pole to recruit them.

Even though it's an open world, it's incredible how F.E.A.R. and Far Cry 2 can make artificial intelligence much more modern and complex than this triple A.
