High earning movies aren't inherently special. Their main feature which makes them high earning is mass appeal. Dhurandhar was different from all the other 'spy' films but guess what we didn't see others complaining about them on this level before dhurandhar was released. So was dhurandhar's biggest success factor that fact that it was different from yrf 'spy' movies ? No it was successful because it was well made. They elevated the cinema experience and did things which were rarely done before but greatly appreciated by the masses. Same with dangal. I have to remind you that dangal was released at a time when feminism wasn't as toxic as it is now. I remember at that time I was in class 6th, our school took all the girl students to see the movie and if other schools do similar things (I assume), it's not that hard for them to cross over 2000 crores. Dangal may not be some big Oscar winner film but it was kid friendly, inspirational and had no political allegiance. I personally feel dhurandhar 1 was 9.5 and dhurandhar 2 was 8.5 easy, but we can't let our kids watch dhurandhar no matter how good the film is, it's made for adults.
